Hearing your experiences has been very helpful and enjoyable. I’m feeling good about it at this point. Of course my wife has invited relatives over tomorrow so we can’t go to the dealer. I’ll probably schedule to go Monday evening. If the car sells between now and then it wasn’t meant to be. If it doesn’t and everything checks out on Monday I’ll pull the trigger. I’m at peace hahaha (yeah right I’ve never wanted a Monday to come faster in my life)

Oh it’s 100% her family coming over. They’ll never understand. She does though, and still remembers the love I had for my Audi which I happened to have when we first started dating many years ago.

Meanwhile my dad has been telling me to buy it as soon as I uttered the words 540i M-package.

My wife has already voiced her concern over how much farther I’ll park from the entrance of stores. And how much time I’ll spend outside cleaning it. Im already back on the forums.. (feels good)

Don't fall for paralysis by analysis. What I've read wouldn't give me pause at all. Why all the tire replacements? Could be the crappy tires (all ROF's aren't created equal) that were installed. Everything else looks fine, to me. IMHO, you couldn't pull the trigger fast enough, especially in this climate.

If you think you really want this car and color and options are what you want, I would suggest calling in a $500 deposit so you have dibs on it. Then when you go see it, negotiate on it or get your deposit back. Final words on negotiation, get them to add year two of CPO and of course the wheel and tires insurance. If you get the W&T, it should be around $1,600 with cosmetic repair (wheel rash). You said your wife would be driving it, 😜😜

It was like a Wednesday and I told him to have it ready for me to drive and look at on Saturday morning. In my head if everything checked out it was a done deal. I emailed him Friday afternoon to remind him I would be down in the morning. Someone bought the car site unseen.

Now the 540 isn't an M5C in terms of hard to find, but you would be surprised how quickly these cars sell on a weekend.

I hear you. I will definitely consider that. Question for you… realistically what do you think the chance is of them agreeing to throw in the 2nd year of CPO? Idk why I feel like they’ll say no immediately but I absolutely want to try.

Oh they will absolutely say no to a "throw in". This is how the finance guy after the sale feeds him family, by getting you to buy this and other add ins, like wheel and tire.

What I would do is get them to the lowest price. Yup it is a pain in the ass. Back and forth to the manager. In this market, there may not be that much negotiation. Maybe $1500 off the advertised internet price. The internet prices are usually close to the bottom. When you are satisfied they won't budge anymore, tell them you are going to another appointment at another dealer with a similar car. Then they will probably say, "what's it going to take to have you buy this car right now?" Then hit them with the extra year. Tell them the other fictitious car has a year more of total warranty.

😂😂😂. That has been officially put on the back burner. At the time, I was 4 months into waiting for my Dinan Exhaust to ship and I could have cancelled it. Now that it's installed and wasn't cheap, I'm keeping the car for a bit. Someday. Never had a real M car. It will always be on my list with the 911T.

I was busy with family last Saturday and then Mon/Tues of this week were hectic at work. I also kept mulling over the car. Well today I decided to just go test drive and see what the deal is.

Long story short I wound up making the deal. Probably won't get the car until Saturday or Monday so don't want to jinx anything at this point... but they were motivated to sell and gave me a fair deal overall in my opinion.

Super stoked to get the car home and start enjoying!

Thanks guys! Can't wait to get her home and set everything up. I'm already thinking about a rear lip spoiler (my wife actually mentioned it when we were looking over the car at the dealer… which pleasantly surprised me)… but I have time for that.

Congrats! Once you get the spoiler on, you will find something else that catches your eye that you want to do to it, then something else, then something else...lol enjoy the car!

What color is it? If you are thinking stock spoiler, I have one in Carbon Black Metallic. A bit of a welcome gift to you.

Ah man that's super nice of you! - this car is alpine white. Seriously though appreciate you even thinking of that. I guess I could have it painted, but totally up to you if you'd be willing to part with it.

I haven't looked into any other options yet… I would probably want to go stock tbh. Wife doesn't love the carbon fiber look and although the car has the shadowline trim I think id prefer a spoiler body matched white.

One other question - any simple/clean options to plug the holes from a front plate? NJ requires front plates but usually don't get hassled too much if you don't run one. This car has a front plate on it already but if I were to remove… curious if there's a decent way to 'plug' the holes. I know it wouldn't be perfect but there's a bunch of the parking sensors on the bumpers as it is so wondering if it could blend in with those.

Keep me posted on what you want to do, it's not up for sale or anything. Just sitting in a box in my garage.

I suggest you live with the car bit and think about the spoiler you want. There are a few OEM offerings. I took the stock small lip off mine and put on a M5 CS spoiler. You also have a white car and many people like to go with a black small lip on white. Keep me posted, you will most likely catch the fever and will want to do a bunch of stuff.

I'm a cheapie so bought something like this and just painted them. I forget what size I bought, there are many sizes. Just measure the hole.
