Icon Adaptive Full LED lights

Can someone explain to me what Icon Adaptive Full LED lights is? I read that the G30 comes with LED lights standard, but you get the Icon Adaptive Full LED lights with the premium package in the 540i so what is different?

Indeed, too me it's a must have, and here in Norway I doubt I'll see any G30 with just the standard LED.

Aesthetic impressions are the one thing. Another, even more important, are performance and capabilities. The Icon Lights are fully automated. Intelligent technology allows to use the high-beam even when other cars are on the road (selective beam function). Their effective range is 500m (1640ft.) what is just 100m shorter than laser lights from 7er.

Coded from standard? If so, I could do with some pointing in the right direction as I am looking to buy 2nd hand Icons on fleaBay, a set of brand new pair is ridiculously priced.

What modules/other components do i require for a retrospective installation?

No, not at this time. That requires multiple items being coded and is not for the novice.

No but one of Japanese car companies has requested that this be reviewed and that is what they are doing. Who knows how long it will take.
I believe that you have to have the icon adaptive led lights and high beam assist hardware in order to eventually code this on. Also the VLD functionality.

I hope once approved BMW will bother to retro upgrade old car as suppose to only "going forward" models only...

Totally agree. The beam moves around in all directions thereby ensuring that the road is well illuminated and it works really quickly too.

So far, with the Icon lights, I have not been flashed even once. On the other hand, I have had to flash a number of cars that have their high beams on.
