Lightbulb BimmerCode AngelEye 100% Brightness Coding with Apple Devices

Greetings,

I own a 2017 G30 with adaptive LED headlights and one of the AngelEye LEDs burned the plastic part in headlight. As a result one of my AngelEye lights yellow instead of white at park/daytime driving setting (where LEDs work less than 100% brightness). But when headlights are on and angel LEDs at 100% brightness it looks white. So I need to code them to light at 100% at all times.

Problem is: Bimmercode Android version doesn't have this feature. I asked the developer last year and he said that it will be added on next update, but there have been many updates and a year and it is still not on Android version.

Can someone with an iPhone and Esys can code this and send me the parameter it changes (or at least before and after CAFD files) so I can code it manually with Esys.

I'll really appreciate such help. Thank you for your time.

Cheers,

This doesn't agree your question directly but there has been discussion of this on here before. The problem is that the led has burnt the end of glass tube which makes up the light guide. I don't believe that coding will sort it. If you are under warranty get back to the dealer before you aren't

Can you post photos of both the yellow and white look? Full frontal shots that show both lights for comparison?

On BimmerCode web page it shows supported. And I've talked with the developer and he said it is only available with iPhone version of the app. Did you try it with an Android Phone?

Yeah I know the cause of the problem. I went to the dealer and we uninstalled the lights and checked it. It was the end of warranty so we couldn't replace the unit because of its cost (ridiculous for a parking light replacement if you think about it )

But when headlights are on AngelEyes rises to 100% brightness which makes them look white. So coding them to light up at 100% brightness at all times will mostly eliminate the issue

I get the annoyance of the defect and I would prefer to get rid of it too, but forcing the light to max brightness doesn’t seem like a good approach. The DRL LEDs on the G30 are pretty bright and we only supposed to shine at full brightness in the daylight with the headlights off (so a lot of other light to soften them out on other drivers). At full brightness with our headlights on at night that can dazzle other drivers.

Can you shave some costs by getting the part from a salved G30 headlamp?

Unfortunately, no Since the burned LED also burned the plastic part integrated into the headlight (angel light plastic), changing the module won't solve the problem thx to its design

Angeleyes already lights on 100% brightness when headlights are on. So it doesn't have an effect at night as you told. It is the default setting. Only during day they have reduced brightness and during the day extra brightness won't disturb other drivers

In Turkey 1 used headlight unit is at least $1,250.

You can why these cars get written after what looks like fairly minor damage when parts like this cost so much.
Appreciate it's probably not a cheap part but this has to be a rip off, can it really cost this much to make one - really?

Always found car parts to be a complete rip off price wise.
