Took delivery yesterday

It's a 2020 CPO 540i xDrive, Dark Graphite, with just under 18k miles. Driving Assistance Plus, Parking Assistance, and Premium packages. It was a business lease, completely clean Carfax (which I imagine is always the case with CPO vehicles), oil changed every 5k.

The Driving Assistance Plus package was a must-have for me, and this was one of the reasons I had been looking for a 540i for a couple of months without finding what I wanted.

I live in AZ and bought from BMW of Palm Springs, so the delivery was a bit complicated. They had a driver drive the car from the dealership to just across the AZ border, where a notary documented that I took AZ delivery. I followed in their X3 loaner. It was a long day; I left at 7:30 Saturday morning and got back home at 9:30.

BTW, shout out to BMW of Palm Springs - we negotiated the deal, including trade value, by text messages, and when I got there everything went very smoothly.

I LOVE this car. I was frankly astonished at the level of sophistication and refinement compared to the Passat I traded in (this is my first BMW).
I had done a lot of research beforehand, but there's still so much to learn... I tweaked some of the settings on the drive back, but I think I've probably only seen the tip of the iceberg.

So now, the question is: To mod or not to mod? Before I bought, I was sure I was going to take the car to Stage 2+ within a few months. But I wasn't really anticipating that I would have two years of warranty coverage that I might not be able to take advantage of, if there were a problem that they could claim was caused by the tune. Sure, the car is quick, but IMO it could stand to be quicker. I'm sorely tempted...

Congrats! It's gorgeous.

Leave it alone. The car is great as is, you start modifying it and you'll start making compromises.

If you absolutely must mess with it, at least leave it alone for a few months so that you can appreciate what you've got.

That sounds like good advice.

But I'm fighting an uphill battle against temptation. I've ordered a BM3 wifi adapter.

In the meantime, some asshole door-dinged me at work today. The car had zero blemishes when I picked it up last Saturday, and it already has a huge ding with chipped paint.

Some assholes just can't bear to see other people have nice things.

I should have had my 4 doors PPF'd when I picked up the car new. The only reason I didn't was because it was a lease. Well, with crazy car prices I ended up buying it out off the lease, but due to all the a-holes who don't respect other peoples property I've got many door dings. PPF of 4 doors is surprisingly cheap $400 vs the whole car $7000 to $8000. Suggest you touch up your chip and PPF the doors soon. Parking lots are brutal.

Sounds great. Decent price for a very low mileage vehicle in this market. Enjoy!
