Only a hole big enough for the regular battery. The spare tire option adds a tire holder that fits to the floor of the trunk and a new trunk floor to cover the tire holder ( ie it lifts the level of the trunk by that of the spare tire. The "e" most likely has a extra battery pack that has already lifted the level of the trunk, leaving no space to lift it more with a spare. There is a thread on the forum where I posted pictures of additional items that come with the spare EDIT: Here you go http://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1349473

I am very picky about ride quality and have swapped to non-RFTs on both my F10s, both of which have adaptive drive.
I test drove a G30 on MSport suspension and 20s yesterday, Goodyear F1s I think, and the ride was much better than I expected, very similar to non-RFT 19s on an adaptive drive F10 in Sport mode. Maybe the RFTs themselves have improved but the sidewall of 20s is so narrow that I think the biggest improvement must be in the damping and in the rigidity of the body. It's like the force from a pot hole edge or a cat's eye still transmits through the tyre to the rim but the dampers are so well tuned and so well braced against the new stiff body that you just don't get any knock or scuttle. |

Well the spare is a 135/80R18, meaning its 135mm thick or about 5.32 inches
So I would say you loose atleast about 6 inches in depth. But you do gain the storage containers infront of the tyre as per the picture above. Still waiting to see it on an actual car

Hm, it's all the way up to the edge of the opening, so it looks like it takes up a lot of space to me.

If BMW do the same in the wagons, that will completely mess the capacity and usefulness. I'll stick with run-flats, much less of a compromise than years back. |
