Is BMW Wi-Fi hotspot affected by the Krack vulnerability?

For those of you in IT security I'm sure you heard about the Krack vulnerability affecting almost all Wi-Fi devices. Does anyone know if this affects Wi-Fi hotspots in BMWs? If so, does BMW plan on releasing a software patch?

Nobody is going to sit outside your car to packet sniff your WiFi while you're sitting inside playing your Nintendo Switch.
