Kidney grill replacement ?

I'm shopping here for black kidney grills. I'm realizing there are single and also double slots. Will these options both work? I think I plan on going single but didn't realize there was double. Any info would be good here.

I got the double-slat one (similar to M5 without the M5 logo) and it works perfectly. Simple install job that took less than 2 minutes (pop off old ones and pop in new ones). Love the gloss black look and double-slats on my carbon black 540 M-Sport!

Yup. Only the real M get the double-slat grill from the factory. Standard BMW get single-slat. New M-Performance models get the weird single-dashed-slat grill (see M340i).

I'll prob keep it to the single and as close to stock. If it was years old it wouldn't matter to me as much and I'd go for the double. I don't want it to have that modded look. I want it clean. I don't feel like the m look is right although I do have the m sport. I am going to add this though for sure. It's needed on white.

For sure. To each their own. It’s clean either way!

Agree. Hate that stupid black piece that “connects” the grill. Luckily for me, the carbon black hides it well enough that you hardly notice it at all.

I have the M double slat and it looks great on my M package 540. and yes, the vents still open correctly. Ebay too - no need to spend any more money on expensive ones, they all look the same.

How long have you had the ones from eBay they are a lot cheaper. Just curious how they hold up? I'm glad you referenced that.
