well you can:
1. put white electrical tape over the area 2. get some touch up paint 3. find a good bodyshop (shouldnt be hard in socal) and see what they say im not sure what answer youre looking for. like i said if its just a scuff you can clay/polish and that should take care of it. if the paint really is gone, see above^ i also dont know how leases work, but i seriously doubt you would be buying a new bumper. id put money on them respraying it. |

Put some touch up a little at a time...many layers until it is a little raise above the surrounding pain..Make sure each layer is dried before applying the next coat..After the touch paint has filled the hole, you wet sand it. Get saome sand paper 1500- 2000 grit and use something that is flat with the sandpaper and sand it down till its even with the surrounding paint...Get some Meguiars Scratch X compound and buff it to a shine...You need to really use some hand power for this...Keep applying the compound until the sanded part becomes shiney...After that inspect to see if you are happy, if not wet sand some more and repeat the other step...I just did this to my car for a couple of scratches and it works....Think about this, you really can't mess it up more than it is already...This is a perfect time to try and repair it yourself...

Oh by the way black and white are the easiest to cover up than any other colors....Go to Bmw and get their touch paint...hope it helps..funny because i just went through this yesterday, and today i finished up the job and i have to say, i am very happy with the results

good luck getting wet sanding marks out with scratch X. You need at least a dual action, preferably a roatary for that. Wetsanding is the last thing the OP needs to be doing.

His bumper is already mess up, wet sanding is by no means for everyone, but he wants to find the cheapest way out...and it is him doing the paint work himself...I used wet sand 1500 grit and with alot of elbow grease scratch x did remove the marks and the shine back..Obviously you need about 5 to six coats of hard core rubbing action ( that my finger have blisters) but it does work and get the sand paper marks and luster back!!!

It does work but it just its really time consuming I guess if the op is looking for the cheapest way then yeah scratch x will work fine, but theres way better options out there maybe he should invest in a Porter Cable best thing i ever invested in. |

Have you even gotten a price quote for the damage most bodyshops will work with you especially if you are paying out your own pocket vice using your insurance company. Somethin to think about and with seeing pics its hard for people to give you better advice.

UPDATE::
So, guys. Today I went to the dealer and asked for help. They said they could only sell me touch up paint. So I thought about it. It was 35$ Then, I went to a bodyshop and they told me they could touch it up for 80 bucks. I was like hmmmm..... He also said that he could take the bumper off spray it polish it for 900$. I was like thats a little over my budget So, I decided to go back to the dealer and purchase the 35$ Alpine White touch up paint. I plan on giving it to the body shop so they could do it for me, because I want the job done right. I get to the bodyshop with my 35$ touch up paint. And the guy is going to fix for me for free.:rocks::rocks: Best part is. My budget was 60$ and the paint cost 35$. So I'm still left with money in my pocket Ill try to post pics, before and after. When I get a chance. |

u pay for wat u get...simple as that. if u dont know how much its gonna cost to paint a bumper then u shouldnt be worrying about how much ur gonna pay in the first place. so how exactly are u getting ripped off?

Don't you have insurance? Just pay the deductible and get it fixed. The dealer isn't going to care unless you turn it in like that. |
