Anyone upgrade turbos yet?

Either on a 540 or 550? Just curious on what numbers a pure turbo 540 or 550 put down.

No transmission tune available for g30 yet so no point to upgrade turbo when you benefit nothing from it, currently runming stage 2.5 but cant handle all that power too.

What is stage 2.5?
DP and tune?

You are saying the transmission on the 540 already can't handle that?

true. I can't use full power due to torque limitations. I'm have VTT GC + Dorch Stage 2 HPFP.

What do you mean by "lid had to be filed"? Are you talking about the acoustic foam material or the actual plastic engine cover?

Also, on your third photo, which part/how much did you have to bend the line which attaches to the HPFP? Was it a lot or just a little? Would I be able to bend it back if I decide to revert to stock HPFP?

Based on what I've heard is that ZF8 in G30 and other B58's is limited to 550NM which is about 405ftlbs. When I dyno'd my stage 1 tune, car made 403wtq so basically with stage 1 I was already at limits. Stage 2 makes even more torque and for that to happen properly, definitely needed transmission tune to lift up the limits. That's one reason but xHP gives you so many other options and overall shifts are so fast, aggressive downshifting, throttle blips and much more.

Does anyone know what exactly the xHP flash does to the box? .. Is it just upping the limits or does it actually physically do anything inside (e.g. increasing pressures etc). I wonder just how safe it is and how this stuff reduces lifespan on the gearbox.

It increases line pressure to allow the clutches to clamp harder. This essentially increases the the torque handling ability of the transmission. Of course, with increased pressure, in theory it will increase wear. However, I highly doubt it will be any appreciable amount. The ZF box can handle way more than what BMW tuned it for for the non-M cars. They definitely prioritized comfort in the non-M 8HP box over hardcore performance in the M5 8HP box.

I've had it installed for about a week or so and it's been great. Shifts in comfort and unchanged. Sport+ have lightning fast shifts similar to DCT. The paddles also respond much faster than without xHP. IMHO, it is worth it for the torque increase as well as the faster shifts.

Is that the xHP stage 3 flash, or did you select something else?
[EDIT] Never mind - just spotted your post in the other thread . Just ordered the MHD from Burger. Going to give this a shot myself once I get the BM3 Stage 2 & DP installed.
