Thank you! They replaced the seals and the car is whisper quiet. Now, I wish they had lined the left corner cubby underneath the light switches with felt like in the past.

I also wish they had a space for the keyfob as it gets very bulky.

A lot of the latches on the cubby failed and BMW replaces them with a lined version; at least it did for me.

Nice! What would I have to do to convince them to replace it for me?

After replacing the seals do you still get a very small amount of wind noise right where the door meets the b pillar which is conveniently is right next to the drivers head?

I would definitely be willing to spend some money to improve the steering. The one subpar attribute of an otherwise fantastic car.
Can't agree with you more!! Well said!

Love my 540, use it as my dd. Lately thought being itching for something else. Like someone else said, do I need more hp? no, but sure do want it. The G30 is my 3rd 5 series so pretty much have my mind made up on switching to a different series. Looking at the M850 or if the rumors are true the soon(ish?) to be M4 gran coupe. Checked out the new M3, just doesn't have that luxury feel, though plenty fast. Have another year to go on my lease so plenty of time to decide.

520 diesel owner, 190 hp, very happy, the car drives very well, no issues of any nature in 45000km.
I would of loved more hp, but that is what I could afford at the time.

The failure, well documented, is that the latch doesn't consistently latch firmly closed. Easy enough for the dealership to determine if the problem exists.

I've had my M550 for 3 years and love it! I have the itch to get something else but nothing else compares. I drove the RS5 Sportback the other day, very nice but there are several features that the G30 has that the RS5 doesn't. The M550 is amazing on so many levels with one major problem; when you want something else good luck finding anything that comes close for the price!!

I've owned 2 E39s, the last one a 525 M-sport. The drive was out of this world at the time. The E60 and the F10 left me cold, and I currently drive an E92 335is DCT/LSD with 440hp courtesy of MHD. This is a very fast and engaging drive, but boy do I miss the comfort of the E39.

I did recently try a 530D G30, but while it's the best thing I've driven since the E39, I still feel a bit disconnected from the road.

I'll probably get one when I can't stand the sub 4s 0-60 335is any longer

BTW: The sound and feel of the E39's doors closing...I don't think you can find that anymore

my personal favourite thing to do: while driving along, stomp down on the throttle to watch the revs instantly jump to 4k and the car shoot forward like a greased rocket
other car is an E46 (not an M3) - so huge jump up in performance

Still love my 2017 530i in the 3 years since I got. Here is my big shout for the 2 liter version of this amazing vehicle that is quick, smooth while returning great gas mileage and adding the benefit of a lighter front end and near 50/50 weight distribution in comparison to their larger displacement breathen. If you want a G30 that weighs well below 4000 pounds, the 530i is where is at.

I haven't missed my 2011 E90. This car is the natural evolution of what a luxury sedan/saloon should be. Car is not perfect but nothing really is. I will venture to say the G30 5-Series is ths best car BMW currently makes.

Eagerly waiting to see what the 2024 8th generation 5-Series will bring to the table.

I enjoy my M550iX overall.
1) Hate gesture control
2) Hate that the screen dims when you adjust the volume
3) The passenger mirror dips too low when parking to the point that it is useless.
4) Hate that they moved rain sensing wiper setting to stalk position instead of button. When it was a button on the end of the stalk, you could tap the stalk down when you needed a random wipe. But now that it is first click up on stalk, you can't do that.
5) Hate the passenger seat belt buckle rattle (you all know what I'm talking about)

I love my G30... I thought the F10 was a great 5 series but this is even better! In the process of modifying it to what I like to call OEM Plus

Just drove my car last night and it was super quiet. Maybe because I drive and set the seat really low so I cannot hear taps by the driver side? The only sound my car makes is when the passenger seat belt is not positioned properly and it taps the side of the car. Very annoying!

Yeh for me , if they could give me the steering from the e39, it would be about as good a car as I would want
Steering feel lets it down.

Jesus that set up and wheels look superb.

Could you share the spacer, lowering and wheel spec?

Thanks

On my second. Had a 2018 540 and now a 2021 M550. Best two vehicles I have ever owned—and I’ve had quite a few.

I've everything the same with standard suspension and 759i 20s.

The massive gap between arches and top of the tyre particularly on passenger side wrecks head.

What's the ride like with your lowering springs?

I finally got rid of the run flats last week and hot Ps4s. Ride is so much better.

They are a much squarer side wall so 15mm at the back almost doesn't look enough! [IMG][/IMG]
