Shadowline
As Im waiting for my 540x to arrive off the ship, Im trying to figure out the difference between the M sport package which includes the shadowline exterior trim and the shadowline package that I paid an extra $550 for. It says the extra package comes with shadowline lights. Whatever that is. Cant find an explanation anywhere.. Salesman is clueless. Does anyone know the difference? I guess nextime I buy a car Ill do a little more research instead of just checking off the boxes

It means that the lights are darker to match with the grille. If you look at mine, you can see that the surrounds behind the lenses are black, rather than silver.
It looks great in my opinion - makes the car look quite aggressive. |

Here's how the US Spec looks. First is a 540i without, then an M550i with shadowline lights, and an M5 Comp with the same

I think these are the non-shadowline version.

Click the browse button and work your way over to the VEHICLE TRIM group of diagrams. Once you find the diagram that contains the part you seek...scroll down the part number index (below the diagram) for the part number that represents the part you want. Also check the supplemental info columns in case there is some prerequisite or build date range that applies. Once you have the 11 digit BMW part number...the world is at your fingertips. You can call your local ‘BMW dealership’s part department and have them order it...or you can check with any online vendors that you’re familiar with, or just do a google search for venders by typing “BMW xx xx x xxx xxx” (where x=the actual part number) into a google search box.
