Tire Pressure recommendation changes

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

Quick question: Have you seen tire pressure recommendation changes when driving? My tire pressure was low (38 front and 36 rear). I added air, and the digital pump that I just purchased had 43 front and 39 rear. When I started driving to reset the computer, it said 43 front and 39 rear, which was recommended (on the screen).

However, when I started driving around, the pressure increased (which is normal with heat ). However, the recommendation increased along with it. Now, the computer says 47 recommended front and 42.9 recommended rear (attached).

Is this normal?

Yes. This is the recommended pressure at the current condition. You don't need to wait until the tires get cold to set the correct pressure.

Same experience here, the system adjusts to temperatures and provides the recommended pressure under the current conditions, hot vs. cold. Personally, I feel more comfortable setting my tire pressures after the tires have warmed up after some driving. I was running my summer non run flat 20's at 38/42, but my car was at the dealer last week and they must have set them to 40/44 which is what iDrive is telling me they should be at.

At those pressures I’d start to worry about my teeth.

You obviously don't have 20" summer softies in the non run flat variety. You probably have all seasons 19" run flats which are hard as a rock with no air in them. Summer performance tires take more PSI.

In Florida, only ordered 19" Summer run flat OEM tires.

Close. Run flats are hard and require less PSI.
