17" wheels on G30 xdrive?

I am moving over from an F10 535d xdrive and have some tires I'd like to use on my 540d Xdrive. While even the mention of 17" wheel should have me thrown off this forum, I am wondering how folks using non-OE wheels deal with the hub centric fit (66.6 mm) and wheel bolt issues.

I've noticed that some European variants of the G30 are sold with 17" wheels, but would one have caliper clearance issues if these were to be installed on US-spec G30s? Specifically, there seems to be only two caliper/rotors combinations here in the US: the blue calipers and larger rotors and the bare metal calipers with smaller rotors. My G30 has the latter, so would those allow the necessary clearance for 17" wheels?

My apologies in advance for asking about plebian 17" wheels.

Whilst the wheels may fit you might to check that the disc brakes don't restrict you.

The brake discs on the 540 if it's like min which has 20 inch wheels are pretty big especially the fronts.

I'm sure your local bmw dealership would be able to help you confirm either way

Further to this if you can find the g30 technical docs on this website ( use a web browser rather a phone as I think it shows up there) I recall there being something about wheel and disc sizes

But as I say suggest check with Bmw about your discs on a 17 inch wheel

Thanks for the BMW Technical Manual. It appears that my G30 has the smallest front rotor/caliper combination. Moreover, the file covers various wheel and tire settings in vehicle's idrive. Specifically, 17" wheels is one of the settings. Also hub size and bolt pattern is indicated.

I think you'll only have issues if you have the larger brakes. Sounds like you have the standard brakes like I do and it should fit fine.

BMW sells a 17" G30 wheel set in the US that says it is compatible with my VIN on their website...

I'd link to them, but BMW's store is down for me at the moment anyway.

Looked at the link and it appears that BMW is offering a winter wheel/tire package for about $2k. While it sounds expensive it really is not, if one is buying four winter tires and wheels. In my case, I need only the wheels as I already have a set of winter tires.

I don't see 17s listed on the site above. Did you get 17s? I would mot mind having them as well.
