brake noise

I have no clue about who to ask regarding the brake noise. I recently got 2022 bmw 530xi delivered. I drives this very new car (near 100 miles so far) and hears a very loud squeaky sound when I come to a slow stop at the traffic lights or when parking this car. I am very embarrassed about this happening. This squeaky sound only occurs when the car is near completely stop. Has anyone had this issue resolved at the service center? I will bring it to the dealership tomorrow but not sure whether this can go away immediately. I hear that squeaking sound in my dream....

brake noise

What brakes are on the car. Standard (grey), m sport (blue), or m performance (red). Also since your car is very new, the brakes probably need to settle in. Instead of stopping slow and staying on the brake try braking later and putting some force into it.

Thanks. Mine is the standard grey one. I tried bedding(?) but the noise is on and off under the same weather condition. Hopefully a technician at the dealership can figure out tomorrow.

The brakes on my new M550 are squeaking loudly at the last few feet of a stop, too. It is bitter cold here in Minneapolis but I don't know if that is a factor. The car has about 1000 miles on it and this just started when the temps dropped.

UPDATE: It has warmed up a bit here (12 degrees) and I had no brake squeal at all this morning. Yesterday, at 10 below zero, they squealed like a pig when coming to a stop.

I just got a 2019 m550 and my front brakes are squeaky too. it had started when the weather got cold and seems to come and go. hopefully it is just weather related for us.

I noticed you differentiated between Blue and Red (sport and performance)?

I thought they were the same, but with the option to change the calipers to red.

Looks like they have more options now. These are the red brakes I was referring to. The red ones u posted are the same as m sport.

Same issue here with my new 2022 540i and M sport brakes, my customer got an identical car at the same time as I did and she has the same problem. It is relatively cold here in NJ and I am hoping this squeak will pass soon..

If you can get a clear run on an exit ramp w/no one behind you, try romping on the brakes (abs engagement is ok) to see if you can clean off the surface a bit and maybe eliminate the squeal. Worth a shot and it's always good to exercise the abs.

Don't want to be paying for new brakes within my lease

I wish we had the option to choose brake color when I purchased my car. It's nice that they are giving us more options now.

I stayed with the blue, I like the more subtle approach against the Bernina Grey.
