Nope, it is a stick on by using double sided tape.
So, no need to remove your original trim.
The reason it is done such a way, because removal of original trim is very painful and you will most likely will have issue when putting them back on.

now, if you want to revert to original trim, as in I have a lease (bet they wouldn't notice anyway), I assume it's difficult to remove and if you did remove it, a lot of stickiness to remove, correct? I'm debating doing this but again, it's a lease but I love the carbon fiber interiors! and it's pricey at around $700! Thanks for the advice!

It is quite difficult to remove it, since the double sided tape used is 3M VHB.
But, I managed to cleaned up mine with Googone.
Just a lot of work.

How does it the carbon fiber feel (and look in person) compared to the OEM carbon fiber you'd see in say the M5 for example or any other relatively new interior?

It is real dry carbon. Looks and feels real.
The new F90 M5 is not even real carbon. Just looks like CF.

90% of customer's cars that I've modded are lease.

Bumping this for additional feedback. Elbow grease aside, will removing and/or using googone damage the stock trim in any way? Have the same concerns... it's a lease and needs to be returned bone stock...

No, it will not damage it.
Heat gun will soften the double sided tape and make the removal easier.

Just an update, there are something that need to be worked on.
Seems like BMW doesn't have the iDrive controller at the same place everytime.
So, we are trying to figure out what is going on here.

If you mean by remapped is opening up the ECU and do a flash, then yes, your warranty is fully void since you tampered with their security protection.
So, the Racechip doesn’t change the ECU tune?
I’m looking at getting my ECU retuned....will BMW know?
Is the Racechip reversible before taking the car in for a service?

RaceChip doesn't change or tamper with your stock ECU software.

With ECU retuned, which is a flash tune, you are modifying the stock ECU mapping.
With this, you are at higher risk that BMW will find it.

Once you remove RaceChip, the whole car is back to stock. It is virtually invisible, unless BMW really want to dig deep into it.
You are still at risk, but a very much smaller risk than ECU flash tune.

A lot of my customers jump to ECU Flash Tune once they are out of warranty.

Any new news on fitment of the AutoTecknic CF interior parts? Or any other brand? I have max’ed out the M Performance CF exterior parts but still need to do my interior to pull everything together.

It will need to be trimmed to get it perfect.
Somehow BMW doesn't make two cars with the same trim size.

Especially the center console.

I find the gains are a lot less with Racechip. Would you agree?
I’m finding it hard to find someone accessible to me to flash tune my 2017 530i
I may have to do a Racechip.
Any advice? (Don’t say sell the car) lol

If the gain is less, usually it is due to the engine's capability.
Not with the product itself. RaceChip engineers are making the product for the best gain while still have the engine longevity in mind.
Of course anyone will be able to tune your car for double the hp, but that will only last your engine for 1 straight 1/4 mile run.
