Ok guys, after too much research, polling enthusiasts, family and friends, I am going to go with the RW Carbon CS Style Spoiler. As much as I always try to stay OEM, $1,300 to $1,500 for the OEM one is just too much of a price difference. Thank you all for your help. I plan to DIY it myself.

Awesome, thanks for this! It will be here Wednesday. How was removal of the stock one and removing the adhesive? Any tips appreciated.

Ordered this 3M removal wheel. (Model 7498) Make sure you have drill with correct RPM (Max 4000)

I heated with a hair dryer, removed old spoiler slowly, used the 3m wheel. Then cleaned entire area with alcohol. Spoiler should come with 3m tape on it and ship with 3m adhesion promoter. Support at RW-Carbon was awesome and you should check in with them before doing this. Do it on a warm day for best result.

Perfect, thank you. The eraser wheel is the only thing I was going to try to avoid as I don't trust myself. I've got everything else.

Hey Joe, depending on how much gunk is left after you remove the OEM spoiler, you could also try Goo Gone if you have some handy. I've used that before to remove window vent shade residuals with great results.

Oh yeah, that's part of the plan. It's just takes time. It's not like removing residue from a sticker on glass.

I had not heard of that wheel before, that looks like the trick.
I tried Goo Gone, WD40, denatured alcohol, and 3M Adhesive Remover and none worked very well. Friction with your thumbs worked best, and I can see where that wheel would be the prefect substitute for my poor thumbs.

I could have sworn I saw a wheel in the pictures you sent me? I've known about the wheel and have watched some YT videos on it. The shop I talked to about installing it said they would use an eraser wheel. I may be overly paranoid about burning the paint.

Hey Sam, that's nice of you to offer! I may take you up on it. I am going to try my best to avoid having to use it. In any event, we should meet up and grab a beer at some point. Did you do the side badges?

Yes I did, I will text you a pic of it later on today. The new is brand new, I have not had time to use it yet. Plan is to use it when I remove the xdrive emblem on the trunk lid.

Nice. Spoiler arrives tomorrow, once I inspect it and am sure I like it, I will begin the process to remove it. I plan to use:

- lots of painters tape
- heat gun
- fishing line dipped in hot water
- industrial strength Goo Gone Adhesive Remover
- WD40 if better than goo gone
- My fingers

Install
- Alcohol to clean
- 3M adhesive promoter on both the car and the spoiler
- 3M tape

Putting on the new one will be the easy part.

That should honestly do the trick with a little elbow grease.

We tried a foam pad...no luck. My buddy said he had actually heard of the eraser wheel before, but was afraid to try it. He is going to do some work on another car, and said he is going to buy one and give a try.

This.

Just add some perseverance and lots of goo gone and you'll be able to get it off.

Invest in some high quality fishing line to saw through the adhesive. Let the goo gone sit for awhile and then hit it with a heat gun.

I wish I had something to practice on!

I ordered a spool this morning. I like the advice to let the Goo Gone sit and heat it up. I do need to be somewhat careful spraying the Goo Gone, my rear bumper is PPF'd.

I’ve just had this delivered today, fitment looks great to be honest.

I am considering getting it body coloured rather than CF, has anyone else done this?

Done. Let me tell you, that wheel is a saving grace. I tried without it and I think I'd be picking away until Christmas. With the wheel, removing the adhesive took me less than an hour.

That looks so damn good. I'd jump on rhis if it was body color. Does it stand out in any bad way being the only CF part while other pieces are cerium and gloss black?
