Can't decide on color
I ordered a new 5 series recently which is set to be built in January. I ordered the dark graphite metallic with black wheels and extended shadow line. Recently I have seen the bernina amber effect paint which looks amazing with the black wheels and extended shadow line. I have not seen the graphite metallic paint in person. Has anyone compared the 2 colors and can comment if the graphite washes out the shadow line too much ?

I ordered a m550 dark graphite metallic with extended shadowline and the 20in bi color wheels. It gets here this week and I plan to do full frontal PPF plus ceramic coating. I'll post picks once completed - hopefully in about 2 weeks or so.
Here is the dark graphite on the new lci: It doesn't have the black wheels, but gives you a good look at the color. It looks even better in person. |

Dark Graphite is pretty dark on the scale of grays while Bernina looks much more varied based on the lighting, really hard to describe. No regrets on Bernina, I love it, but the 5 also looks great in graphite. I agree with above that Bernina is more of a statement color, being lighter I think it also doesn't hide the size of the car like a dark color would, for better or worse...

You might want to have a look at this German website where there are many examples of colour and wheel combinations...

It is risky to use a computer to determine color choices. The computer monitor won't always reflect true colors.
If you live close to a dealership, you can go in and they will have painted samples in the showroom (at least mine does) and perhaps some cars in stock where you can see what the color really looks like. |

I wonder what the OP went with, and if he'll ever be back to show us pictures...

So after much moping around about this I ended up going with Graphite with shadowline. Although I really liked how the Bernina amber looks in person I'm not sure if its me, and I really liked how the graphite looks in person.
My car is currently awaiting carrier assignment so hopefully it will be here by march. |

Lol he was trying to draw a penis with the ship tracker but screwed up toward the end. He might just capsize the boat out of frustration. I hope not. Good luck.
