Well spotted LuvMyE92! BMW UK don’t offer anything like that as far as I know. There are a few adaptations companies here, and I’ve used the same one for 15 years.

For me, the mechanical ones are far less intrusive on the car which makes it easier to return to normal when it comes time to sell. The electronic ones that integrate with the drive by wire throttle usually involve a ring over or under the steering wheel and require significant work to fit. The cost difference is quite large as a consequence - £600 for the mechanical ones vs £1500 to £2000 for the electronic ones.

Yes, because I was going to buy another 540i. Then I saw this thread. And then I saw the car in person. Of course, you can't buy the 540i in this color without going through Individual, which is another $5K. So, along with the other benefits of the M550i, that reduces the price difference and so I figured, I'll just get the big 5, in Aventurine, and the price delta is around $14K, so, hey, pay up buddy.

Ordered that colour in my new 545e. Your 550 looks awesome. Just wondering do you have the same level tint on the side, passenger and windscreen as the back windows? Would love to do this but they don't allow tinting of front windows where I'm from.

Congrats! I did the rear windshield and four side windows all of the same tint percentage -- I want to say it was somewhere around 18%, ceramic. I did not tint the front windshield at all. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Just some pics I forgot to post. Adding spacers tomorrow, debadging the X-Drive and replacing the m550i rear logo with a blacked out version from Ind.

Also debating doing Dinan lowering springs, but having a hard time finding anyone with it in stock.

Like I said, ordered my 545e in Aventurine red but was told by the dealer that the shade has become slightly darker than yours Beerflakes. It's now known as Aventurine Red III metallic. I spotted a 520 touring in this colour at my local dealer yesterday and it appears to be a darker burgundy colour with less of a shine on it than yours. Maybe it just needed a good wash and wax.

How does the Aventurine red hold up against swirl marks and looking dirty?

I have had the chance to see it once in person this past weekend and it is a nice elegant color but I am worried that it may be a bit too dark for someone who is anal like me.

My other color choice would be Alvite Grey.

When that red goes deep red - gives me a buzz man. Like an old car I had as a toy. An old Rolls Royce Cornish, corgi one in a similar burgundy.

I like the brightness of it too. Multi purpose colour that red.
