Hi everyone. I've enjoyed reading other tracking threads and they are helpful. So, I thought I'd start my own. It's scheduled for week 11 although I am not sure if that's when production is supposed to begin or when it's supposed to end. I ordered the following:

2021 M550i xDrive Sedan

- Shadowline
- Carbon Black Metallic
- 19" M Y-spoke jet black wheels, style 845M with all-season run-flat tires
- Black dakota
- Aluminum Rhombicle Smoke Grey Trim with Pearl Chrome Accent
- Heated Steering Wheel



Progress so far:

- 2/9: ORDER RECEIVED
- 2/17: SCHEDULED FOR PRODUCTION

Enjoy! Mine is in "production started" status, and I thought 2 months would go by but I find myself checking the status daily.

I've also enjoyed reading all the tracking threads, so I'll be following your journey! Carbon Black is a great color, you'll love it! I was almost going to get Carbon Black, but ended up going with Tanzanite Blue. It is nice to see someone getting Carbon Black, because so many people get Black Sapphire, when Carbon Black is basically Black Sapphire with a blue tinge which I find cool. I also see that you have gone with a true blackout spec! I think that the red calipers would have looked better than the blue, just because it would pop more and I think contrast better with the black. My M550i is currently at the port. I'll post my current timeline to help you get an idea for how long it will take. If you want something more in depth, I have my own tracking thread with my full spec and everything. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions!

I've been reading your thread as well. Carbon black is a pretty unique color and blue is my favorite color, so I went with the blue brake calipers. I'm hoping it arrives at the dealer sometime in April.

I agree. Carbon Black is pretty unique. I don't know why people get Black Sapphire. Carbon Black is just Black Sapphire with some blue in it, which makes Carbon Black seem unique and special.

Once it starts production it’ll start to fly by. Pretty sure that’s for everyone. My timeline had moved from assembly to at the port all in 2 days

Yeah usually only takes a week or 2 once it's in production. It's the ship ride that takes 3-5 weeks.

I am in the same production pack as you and rough date of week 11. The genius folks and I are almost on a first name basis! Hahaha grats!

Nice. I thought I was the only one that ordered a car basically stripped. I think the blue calipers look great.

One of my past cars was carbon black. It's a great color, very unique and looks fabulous when polished.

The salesperson I was talking to said that each dealership could only order 5 M/M performance cars each yearly quarter. I'm unsure if that is per M model or for all M models combined.

I don't really care about all of the creature comforts with the added packages. I have a 2019 Corvette and the only options I cared about were the exhaust and black wheels. I really can't wait to get this car.

The only creature comfort you need is the heated steering wheel, and you got that!

I too had a C7, which had only the active exhaust and the ugly silver wheels, which I actually prefer. I kinda wish I'd kept it, but the amount of grunting required for me to get in and out of it was embarrassing.

No not yet. From what I've read, the week they tell you is the week it should finish production. So with a week 11 production date, I'm hoping it starts production later next week.

That's awesome and it looks good. Did the tracking website suddenly jump to paint booth or did it take the normal progression? I'm hoping mine suddenly updates to say it's in production.

Also, when did you place your order and when did it go to scheduled for production?

I confirmed my build with my dealer on Feb 16, and when I added the order to the tracking website it was already scheduled for production. It's been in queue for a few days and since yesterday it transitioned 2 spots to paint booth.
