Best way how to update i6 firmware

Hi,

What's the best way how to update idrive 6 to the latest firmware? I'd like to learn/do it myself.

I know I need:
1) OBD2 cable - are wireless OBD ports better?
2) What app do you recommend for it?

ESYS, enet cable, psdzdata full the newest and charger min 70A (14V)

Wireless is fine for coding and diagnostics. For updates, you want Wired.

E-sys + Psdzdata Full + 50+ Amp continuous charger.

While you can do it. Using ISTA + ICOM is way easier. It's basically one-button update. Esys requires some knowledge.

Best and safest way to update headunit is ENET + ESYS.
G series doesn't need battery charger, you can simply do it on engine running

Hello,
I have Esys 3.40 with PSdZ Full version. I am ready to flash my ECUs but can't find a Power Supply right now and also don't wanna spend $500 for one time use. Do I need to have a power supply hooked up to my G30 and why does it differ from other chassis? Thank you

All you need is a battery tender. You can also run the engine to keep the battery charged. The last thing you want is the battery to die while you're coding.

I've also noticed that traffict jam assist works much better now. The other day I went 45 minutes without ever touching resume button, it kept going no matter how long it stopped for the car in front. So basically went 45 minutes without hands on the wheel or pedals(it was a long queue for the border crossing).

I'd like to update my NBTEvo_U to newest version (Y?) and then use Bimmercode to get full version Carplay. I have an ENET-cable, but I still haven't found latest ESYS and latest full version PSDZ-data.

Anyone willing to share a link?
