Spotify not working properly all of a sudden

I can stream BT audio via Spotify to my car no problem but all of a sudden the album artwork doesn't appear anymore. This started happening about a week ago. The weird thing is, if I make a phonecall while music is playing the album art for the current song appears after I disconnect the call. It disappears, however, as soon as I skip to the next track. Super strange - anyone have any ideas?
