I would have been torn between happy being a spectator, and pissed for being blocked by an idiot drifting at a HPDE event. I do hate blockers at driving events that won't point you by or that drag race you when they do, so probably the latter.

He wasn't gettng black flagged, so maybe they let people do that at this particular event.

Yeah drifting was allowed in this particular run group. I tried my hand at some drifting too. Here is the video if anyone is interested:

It was actually my first time outside a skidpad where I tried it a few times. My 135i was the most modern car in this group, and I did feel a little out of place with a car not known as a good drift car. Most everyone drove old Nissans (200/240sx) and for good reason - they drift very nicely!
