Wow... If the 5 series looks similar, makes me happy I didn't wait.

Pretty scary considering the current 7 is very similar to the 5.

The boys over in the M5 forum are freaking out. LOL

I like the overall body shape. The rear end is fine. But the face is ugly as hell. I'm sure the new 5 will just be a mintier version.

I stole this from the 7 series forum. There are SEVERAL really good pics from someone taking live pics of the reveal. Go check it out. The face doesnt get better, but the rear end isnt bad.

This picture is interesting. Looks like they maybe added small "doors" for dual/full exhaust mode?

Makes me glad I put down a deposit on a Lucid Air. Reversible but I don't see BMW changing its design philosophy and the range on the I7 is a joke.

The spy shots suggest the g60 will look conservative on the outside but I suspect the interior dashboard will look pretty much the same as the new 7

I've said it before but what is wrong with a ROUND steering wheel?

This is the same company that gave us the E38? Oh you though the grill was bad? Ka boom, funky split headlight design in yo face. Damn right the 5 series peeps are nervous and chewing their nails off...

Trust me, it will grow on you, even if the G60 has a similar face. They always do. When I had my E38 and the E65 was announced with this idrive thing and the Bangle butt, I said NFW! I bought three E65's in a row.

Nothing wrong with the E38, the E65 is another story. I STILL hate it! The deck lid looks like an afterthought and those "flame" headlights (on the E60) look super feminine. Had Bangle still been designing BMW's when we bought our 1st (a 2012 535i), I wouldn't have even considered one. If that grille is BMW's direction, I will probably be driving my last BMW. The I7 doesn't look any better! I saw it in person a few weeks ago at my local dealer.

And that Lexus grille still looks like a Cylon warrior!

Just to be clear, I always hated and still hate the E60. Unquestionably the worst 5-series ever designed. Just ugly. I had one Pre-LCI and two LCI E65's. They grew on me.

For car design to “grow” on you essentially means you’ve accepted the reality that the status quo is what it is and it was not something you thought was attractive at first sight. Ultimately, you are still forcing yourself, or, being coerced at a certain level, to appreciate it, enjoy it, or maybe just overlook it. That feeling is so far removed from the organic, immediate, and sincere “OMG that is a BEAUTIFUL car!” feeling that happens right out the gate. There is no effort involved with the latter, no analytics, or breakdowns, no math. It is immediate sensory overflow on a positive note hitting your serotonin levels at all the right notes, zero delay. The Aston Martin DB9….BAM, gorgeous car at every possible angle, no thinking needed. Yes, art is subjective, but the neurons just connect. This other stuff with BMW and it’s bizarre new design language….eh. Never been a fanboy of any brand, any product, so I’ll just move on to something that tickles my pickle. My M340i drives like a dream, but if it had that pig nose on it, not a chance in hell would you see me behind that wheel if it were my choice. That said, everyone's priorities and tolerances are different, and I can appreciate that.

I get it, but it's hard for me to remember many model changes that I liked off the bat. I'm slow to adjust, as a general rule.

That picture looks like full on fake exhaust tip style.

In a year everyone will be praising the new look. We all just need time to digest change.

I love how the prototype looks. I hope they change everything. Gives something to truly upgrade to. Especially engine turbos etc

I agree.

It makes me wonder how many people in the M3/M4 forum ripped the current beaver tooth front end as hideous when it was first introduced but are now currently posting every hour with frustration their ordered M3/M4 is still stuck in QC or at the port.

Lighting up the exterior of the grille makes it that much worse! That monstrosity might work on a large SUV, bot not, IMHO, on a sedan.
