Personally, I prefer Carbon Black as its a really cool color that you don't see to often and has both the shades of black but also dark blue (almost similar to Imperial Blue) while also showing off the metallic effect of the paint nicely, but Mediterranean is also a nice typical Blue that also looks really good.

I got Carbon Black with a Cognac interior on my 2019 M Sport and I do love it. Had the essentially same combination on my 2010--Carbon Black and Natural Brown leather. I really like dark, subtle colors. In the sunlight Carbon Black is quite blue but otherwise hard to tell if it is black or dark blue. Not everyone's cup of tea but I really like the look. As you can surmise. --Bob

I went with Mediterranean Blue with Mocha leather. It has become pretty common it seems.

I'm biased and went Imperial Blue Metallic as it slides easily between blue and black depending on lighting conditions. Goes great with Mocha.

Imperial Blue is a beautiful color, sadly its been discontinued on most modes and isn't available with the M-sport package however.

I went to the showroom 100% bent on getting carbon black. As luck would have it, they had a med blue with ivory leather parked inside the showroom. I asked them to pull it out and once i saw it under the texas sun i was SOLD!!! Pics dont do justice to this color... absolutely love it. Probably the best base color in current line up

So pretty!!! That's the best pic of MB that I've seen yet. Can't wait for mine to get here! I'm on white interior on MB.

Big fan of carbon black and all its varying presentations. I also debated between Mediterranean blue and CB. For me, MB was too much blue for my taste. Went mocha on the interior and really like the combo.

Just a pity that in the U.K., CB is more black than blue

First time i saw Med Blue in person i had no doubt. 530i that i wanted was available with Mocca interior only which i didnt really like as Mocca varies from awesome to shitty depending on the sun exposure. So i went for 540i just because they had Med Blue with Ivory white combo. But in the end beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I came from an Imperial Blue F10 and have been driving a Med Blue G30. I'm partial to blues.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Med Blue can have a hint of purple in some light. And Carbon Black will almost always look black during overcast or dark days (issue for us in the more northern latitudes).

My favorite blue is Tanzanite which unfortunately isn't available on the G30 -- yet.

I agree on Tanzanite. It looks great on an M4. Here's a shot of the purple look to Mediterranean Blue.
