Yes, but from the artcile I don't get why.

Germans like it better, especially the rear steer

Top gear review was a lot more positive and seemed to place the problem with winter tyres...

They also (like others) said the UK is not getting either the i or the d version, cheers BMW. We should do a swap scheme where we can ship wagons to the US and they can send us some M550i.

Anyone heard anything about the alleged M550e that Scott once mentioned? Mind you that probably won't come to the UK either with relations straining in impending negotiations.

530e looks good except for the stupid "i" on the fenders.

BMW should have put that plugin in a better place.

Looks odd on the fender where they placed it.

Exclamation ...xDrive is rear biased !

Listen Grandma, try removing the traction and give us an update after your change your depends. xDrive rocks, you just have not explored it the way it was intended to be driven.

I think this is the wrong place for videos. There's a subforum for the pics vids etc. Great review from South Africa http://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1377804

I feel like the more cars move to self driving and less driver engagement the less interested these reviews are going to be. Perfect example: an 02 M3 still makes me happier than a 2017 M4. Quite literally twice as fast and better in every way but so much less engaging and fun. These cars are so good that they're boring. If that makes sense at all

Why is that proper? He just went in uncontrolled circles? Car gets you from a to b right?

I agree fully heartedly with your statements. That said, I'd be happy to have either an e92 m3 or an e46 m3, but even happier with a manual 911. Porsche still gave the 911 superior steering feel and I don't need the room the m3 provides.

I wouldn't drive any of these for a commuter though. I'd probably get something like a Tesla model 3 for that once I need to commute somewhere further than a few miles each way. No need for now though. Happy with my wranglers until I find a used 991.2 I want ( probably another year until depreciation has hit enough ).

Hold the button down until it is completely off (for 5 seconds)then you will wake up the full abilities.

Then you will maybe understand what I am talking about.

Still not front biased as you described.

Here is a G30 on the 540 I haven't seen in the blog as yet .. Though Ciro gives the review from the right seater in South Africa, he has a large US following. Has done some great work, especially the famed M5 Pure Metal review.

Cheers!

Whoops...I just saw someone above posted...my bad.

Sorry about that...agree Ciro does a great job on these reviews. Especially liked his M5 review last year and he has done some M4 reviews which are good showings.

Yup, makes a lot of sense to me. I enjoy my F'10 535 for what it is and I fully knew what it wasn't when I bought it (having owned what I have in the past including E39 with V8).

But the direction cars are headed (BMW's are headed) isn't going to be pressing many of my buttons. Those newer attributes and tech at the expense of tactile engagement is not a tradeoff that makes me happy.

Shrug.
