Yes, decent deal. However there's still another ~$1500 easy in wiggle room of you wanna push.

You're buying a 530e? Be sure to grt an extended warranty or plan to sell it before end of warranty. These cars have far too many electronic modules and the "e" versions are just way more complicated. Repair bills will be off the charts if you have to pay for post warranty repairs.

But the Extended Warranty can be purchased at any time before new car warranty expires. No need to pick it up on Day 1 since, unlike MB, it isn't fully refundable while the new car warranty is active.

The BMW extended warranty gets more expensive if purchased later. And I recall it's not the same version of the warranty. I read through the particulars earlier in 2019 when I helped a friend who purchased. I never purchase so it doesn't apply to me, therefore I'm a little rusty on the topic.

And on a purchase, I'd recommend buying the maintenance upgrade because if you don't at time of purchase your extension options later are poor by comparison.

Another alternative, mine, is to get "mechanical breakdown insurance" from GEICO (you must be getting your auto insurance from them). It will cover up to seven years, 100K miles with a $250 per occurance copay. Covers essentially everything covered by the original BMW warranty. Cost is a pittance compared to a BMW extended warranty contract.

I discussed this with the dealer at time of purchase and they confirmed both are purchasable later to no ill effect. I also see the upgrades listed in MyBMW for the car as purchasable options.

I would have purchased them as a no-brainer if they were like Mercedes-Benz which is 100% refundable if they aren't used (meaning your extended warranty is 100% refundable if your new car warranty is still in effect). But since they aren't it seems much more sensible to me to wait a bit. As something as simple as the car being totaled in a crash or traded for something else in the first 4 years could wash that money down the drain.

I have been eying the prepaid maintenance just because of my annoyance with service price creep on my MB, but I will likely not commit to this until near when the free maintenance is up for expiration. As upgrading on Day 1 would only add Wiper Blades and Brakes to my list of covered items. The biggest one is brakes, but I can add the plan if I notice brakes are due sooner than 3y/36K.

I think that's a killer deal and I'd be really surprised if you could get another $1500 out of them. If I'm wrong, please let me know.

I bought a left-over 2019 in August and didn't get nearly that good of a deal.

That's basically at invoice price ~7% off before incentives/rebates.

I would push for a very easy 8-9% off MSRP BEFORE incentives.

8% is very easy to achieve if you are talking to an SA in internet sales.

The member who mentioned $1500 extra off wiggle room is correct
