Hey Guys,

I live on a 20-mile narrow road, with no shoulder at all, that bikers have taken over. I do bike and have never come closing to hitting a biker, but sometimes when it is dusk/getting dark, or when the sun it right in your eyes, you could easily make a horrific mistake especially if you looked at your radio for a few seconds. They are everywhere.

So the question is, will Driver's Assistance(built-in?) or Driver's Assistance Pro(optioon) help me avoid those bikers even when I am cruising down my street a few miles? I am not sure if it must be enabled to see them light up in the heads up display, and if it would avoid the bikers automatically, without me having to turn on driver's assistance every time I leave my house. Cruise control and that stuff is great and this sounds awesome when you are in traffic, but I rarely use cruise control every time I leave my house, etc.

It is apart of intelligent safety and has support. But how well it works is up in the air. IIHS has started testing these systems so we can start to see independent test results.

I am pretty certain if you turn off intelligent safety option, then well, it is no longer intelligent for safety. Keep it on.

I don't know the answer to will it detect bicycle because the system is different than most cars. You may never experience it because it only work when it really thinks you are going to have an impact.

Ironically, I had never had my car self brake until this weekend. I got cut-off on the highway and in addition to the big red car symbol on the dash. the car braked automatically. Pretty cool. It works.

I was driving by some bikers about 50 mph, not even close to them. Suddenly, my car applied brakes and car came to a complete stop. The guy behind me almost rear ended me.

I turning this feature off!
