I have to give hats off to Mercedes, the 2 litre Diesel is superb. I came from a 430d GC which had a peach of an engine with oodles of low down torque, 0-60 in 5.5 secs and good economy.

The 2-litre unit I have now is a shocker in the sense it's so quiet. There is none of the characteristic diesel rattles that I even had in the 3 litre BMW. And I'm getting 4.8 L/100km or 59 MPG Imperial, 49 MPG US.

Would like to get back though to a 3 litre next car so the 530d X Drive looks a real peach. The Audi A6 50 TDI is a very nice car as well.

I had the 3 litre diesel in my previous F10 and its a great engine.
I've just felt that 4 cylinder cars don't have the refinement or nice sound but even in diesel form the 6 pot diesel make a nice noise and has a nice amount of grunt.
I only moved away from diesel as I felt there was too much hate against diesels here in the UK.

Has anyone seen the configurable lately? They have what looks like a new trim edition, the “M Sport Edition”. This is in addition to the regular M Sport usual trim. It adds red brake callipers, only comes in tanzanite blue with specific 20in alloys. All shadowline with M seatbelts and M Multi Function seats with the interior only available in Dakota black. The adaptive suspension comes as standard. 3 Engine choices for now like the other trims. 520i and then 520d and 530d.

Looks good, that edition is more expensive then normal M Sport obviously but when you add it all up it’s not too bad.

2021 M550i M Rims Question

Does anybody know what the code for the following rims are?

Took a look at the order guide and it doesn't look like either the 845m or 846m.

Thinking about specing/ordering a new m550i and wanted to have these on instead of having to buy later and swap out. Anyone having any luck ordering these right now?

Also comes in Donnington Grey but configurator not up to speed yet and must engines seem available 530e etc.

Great option!!

I wonder when the 5-series will only be available as an all electric?

I just purchased my first BMW after owning 6 Audi A6/S6 models. I didn't purchase a 7th S6 because the 2020 model only offers a V6 biturbo, no more V8 biturbo. Instead, I started looking at BMW seriously after taking a 2020 M550i for a test drive. I didn't like the color and it didn't have the equipment I wanted so I didn't buy it on the spot. I placed an order for a 2020 M550i in March, but my order was rejected when the factory closed due to Covid-19.
That worked out to my advantage because when I was able to order, the 2021 refresh was announced. I took delivery on my 2021 M550i three weeks ago. I have every option except for rear window shades and the Wilkins sound system. Wow! what a car.

Tomorrow, I am having a 30% ceramic tint installed on the side and rear windshield.

Cheers,
Bud

Nice car! Love it! Looks just like my new M550i.

I had a 30% ceramic tint installed on my side windows and rear windscreen. Here are a few shots that I took yesterday in front of the historic Mercer Museum in Doylestown, PA, across the street from my office.

I have every option except for the window shades, ceramic control surfaces and the Wilkins sound system upgrade (way too expensive). The black Nappa leather seats are very comfortable and the massage system feels good on longer drives.

Good luck with your beautiful ride.

Bud

How are the ventilated seats? On pre LCI cars I've been in, you can barely feel any air flow from the seats. Curious if they improved with the LCI or if it's the same.

Congratulations.....nice configuration! I had also ordered my car at the beginning of March and cancelled by BWM due to COVID and the change to the LCI model..... Delivery is now scheduled for the 5th of November! I am alright with the new model, however did prefer the wheels on the predecessor.....however now I see you car it looks nice (ordered the same wheels). Car will come in Sophistograu (Anthrazit grey) with M Performance carbon front splitter and mirror caps.

Enjoy the ride.....its the best performing car in its segment!

I can't compare with the earlier models, but you definitely know that they are working. The area massaged and intensity can be easily adjusted. Personally, I go for the total body massage at the max, level 3.

It's a nice novelty, but nothing as aggressive as the massage lounge chairs for sale at Costco.

Bud

Was never a fan of the udrive display previously as it just looked like it had been stuck on as an afterthought.
Enlarging doesn't help matters .
I think the f10 was better in that respect.
No doubt the next 5 may see these feeling more cohesive?

I cannot comment on the pre LCI model, as the 2021 M550i is my first BMW. The ventilated seat airflow is perceptible but not forceful even at the maximum setting. It does cool you down though. It's good for when you first get into a hot car.

I an genuinely curious if anyone believes the steering/handling has been further improved in the LCI model vs previous?. Generally speaking.

I don’t notice anything different when it comes to the steering/handling. It was really good in my 2017 and continues to be that way.
