MSS Sport Fully Adjustable Kit

Hi guys! Just thought I'd mention that I just ordered this suspension upgrade for my 540xi Msport. It actually looks really slick and is very will reviewed in the Audi community. MSS is relatively new to BMW but they were very responsive to my many questions and are very confident this will be a nice performance upgrade while also providing an adjustable drop height. Pretty cool.

Here’s the look at max drop. By the way, I’m going to adjust it back up about a half inch as this is a tad too slammed for me.

I gotta say I’m thoroughly impressed with this suspension. It seems to do exactly what MSS promised. Standard ride is comfortable but when the springs compress under load they stiffen considerably. I’ve been blowing through roundabouts giggling. Historically there’s always been a trade off to stiff sport springs. Great performance but bumpy ride on imperfect surfaces. Not so at all with this MSS kit. This is particularly impressive considering how low I’m riding. (I went with max lowering height.)

Only negative is that the “adjusters” which control ride height are not accessible without removing the suspension. So the dream of easy adjustability is not achieved. If they need adjustment, the car is going to the shop.

How much were the springs? Did you DIY install or get someone to do it? DIY'd shocks/struts/springs on my old E90 and man was it a PITA (not particular hard just time consuming and annoying AF). I did save like $800-$1000 which was the labor rate which I was quoted for all four corners.

Also, you mentioned that they are comfortable over imperfect road surfaces, but super stiff when cornering/under load. I've been wanting to increase stiffness especially when cornering hard. My E90 had Eibach Pro springs which were SUPER stiff, but a bit "bouncy" on bumps on the highways. Do these springs really offer the best of both worlds (as stiff as Eibach/H&R around corners, but as compliant as stock M-Sport springs on rough road surfaces)?

Great post!

Can I ask what suspension you had stock? I have the Adaptive drive which has DDC + ARS. Could I fit these too? Thanks!

Stock was M-Sport suspension. I’m not sure if there are any issues with the MSS kit and DDC. I’d shoot a note to MSS and ask. They were very responsive to my inquiries. Just keep in mind there on England time. 😉

After checking a couple of videos and found the installation manual online

MSS kit on M2 GTS (at around 4:00) mentions that they MSS is modifying the kit so that adjuster sit at the bottom instead of the top, so adjustments can be done easier.

MSS installation manual for 5 series

https://mss.company/wp-content/uploa...Series-IMs.pdf

Just wanted to confirm that the adjusters were installed at the bottom of the spring near the perch/MSS OE bearing parts, and that you still need to remove the suspension to make any adjustments?

Thank!

BTW awesome looking car! looking for some lowering springs myself and a bit torn between the Eibach Pro-Kit and this MSS.

Guys in the video says that Eibach make the springs for MSS (spec) (0:35)

Hey, I know its an old post but hopefully you can comment still. I got my kit or same G30 540i as well today, but cant seem to properly fit the black spring to the adjuster in the back.

The spring is too big to fit inside the adjuster and sits on top of it and just moves around. See video here and here. In set of the adjusters there are cutouts - but very narrow ones -> like 1mm Should the spring sit inside there? like on this pic:

I cant imagine it can be like that. Adjuster is aluminium -> the spring will scrape it to even get inside with weight applied. Im thining they sent me wrong adjuster.

Thanks for any help! Just want to make sure Im doing it right

Unfortunately I haven't ordered the springs, due to other priorities, so I don't know for sure.

Looking at the video and comparing it to the pictures from a vendor page here in the US. Seems like the springs should sit on the outside? Since your in Europe may want to email MSS directly to see if something is wrong?

Bud are you still loving the MSS suspension? Ride is not jumpy? How much was the install? Thank you!

Interesting to hear how your getting on with the new springs...

I'm looking at changing mine and was all get to go Eibach but have recently hear good things about MSS. Eibach manufacturer the springs for MSS I heard too.

Are you running Spacers on the car too?

Anyone else tried these springs? I want to pull the trigger for my 2021 M550i but I see hardly any reviews online for my model.

I got them on my 540i in NYC. Gives the car the perfect drop IMO and is not bouncy at all. Feels just like stock but lower and can take turns faster! I definitely recommend em. They raised the price by like $400 from when I got them in April/May this year.

The price increase was due to minor updates to the spring kit when compared to the earlier version. Even the part number had a minor revision about a year ago.

I'm getting them in Mid December. Was meant to be last week.

Will provide feedback once done.

Thanks
