For what it's worth, the 2021 M550 is now listed on fueleconomy.gov. 5 Series is not yet listed on the Models list, but if you select M, then it lists all of the M240 variants, the M2, and the M550. The 530i shows up as well, but not xdrive, and not the 540i or 540ix.

I checked with the dealer yesterday, and the stop sale / engineering holds have been lifted, so we should be good to go once the car lands at the VPC on Monday. Should be at the dealer for delivery by the week of August 24!

I'm waiting for my car to be transferred to the Performance Center for the delivery. It should be there in the next week or so. The car isn't sent to the Performance Center any earlier than two weeks prior to the actual delivery date.

In the meantime, I'm doing all the travel paperwork for the delivery and making travel arrangements.

Only two weeks left until delivery day. I'll be signing the paperwork for the car on the 25th.

I believe the cost saved is around 300
They will let u drive M versions

I'm picking up the car on September 1st at the Performance Center, as part of the Performance Center Delivery Experience. The experience is open to any one who special orders a car from the factory.

My M550 is now at the VPC in NJ, offloaded from the Manon this morning. My BMW Garage is now showing "At The Port" again. Hopefully it should make it through the VPC by Monday the 24th at the latest and at the dealer a day or two after that.

It depends, if your car was in transit for a couple of weeks and now reads “ in port” it mesns is at the port here in USA

Mine was 'in transit' from the time it left Bremerhaven until it reached Charleston, at which point it fell back to 'at the port' after it was off-loaded. It's still listed as at the port, because it's waiting for BMW to move it to the Performance Center (in your case, the dealer) for delivery.

When it's 'in transit' again, it should be on the way to your dealer for delivery.

It's probably just waiting for a ship with a scheduled port stop at the state (or the closest state) to where you are going to take delivery.

Keep an eye on the ships in port at Bremerhaven, and check their sailing schedules on the shipper's websites - and keep asking your CA, "has it shipped yet?" Eventually, the CA will be able to tell you what ship it's on.

Priority 1 cars (customer sold) go to the head of the line for processing, so hopefully you won't need to wait much longer.

From the Wallenius W. Website schedule ships are leaving today, tomorrow and day after tomorrow to Brunswick. Any other carriers used by BMW?

Quite a few I'd imagine. Mine was on a K-Line ship, the Horizon Highway, which works K-Line's Atlantic Shuttle route (as of August - Bremerhaven-Brugge-Southhampton-Baltimore-Georgia-Charleston-Bremerhaven)

I don't know a specific time frame, but based on what I know, factory orders are Priority 1 and moved to the head of the line at the VPC.

How long it stays at the VPC depends on whether it was damaged during transport and needs to be restored to factory new condition, and the more routine processing steps (software updates, accessory install, etc.) and how many other Pri 1 ordered cars they have in line in front of you.

They will also perform any campaigns at the VPC. Plus customs holds and others types of holds can slow things down.

I used the MarineTraffic app to track my 2018. Can't wait to do it again with my M550...Long way to go, though, as order just went in Monday and I'm awaiting it to be scheduled!
