Cheers! It's Mineral White... looks quite nice in the sun today. Yeah I had to drive it back to town for 90 minutes and set it on the ACC with the lane assist thing and I didn't really have to do much driving... flick the indicator and it moved into the next lane. Nuts.

Didn't spec the adaptive suspension. This morning the ride was fine... super smooth so it seems I've already gotten used it. It's less like riding on a "saggy college couch" and more "on a firmer but taught West Elm sofa". Would love to try it with non-run flats one day though.

What else have I noticed... the automatic parallel parking feature is nuts. Super impressed with the semi autonomous driving tech, seems they've upgraded it a lot.

The remote engine start is AWESOME... car is cool before I even hop in. No need to use the app and do it 10 mins out, I mean if you're a couple of hundred yards away it'll be cool-ish by the time you're in it.

The "mild hybrid" 48V tech means I don't even notice the auto/stop start. Like.. it's instant. Now, the ability to turn it off has been disabled (unless in sport mode) but that doesn't matter anymore.

Full screen CarPlay on the 13.5" screen is too much... waste of space. Wish I could have additional BMW content on the right side like the previous generation. The Apple Maps instructions on the HUD is fantastic and simple - next turn etc. Also shows up on the instrument panel with cards showing multiple turns coming up. Ahhhh.

BMW Maps aren't particularly good. Ditched it after the first ride home. And don't miss the lane indicator on the HUD which you don't get with Apple Maps... it's too small always squinting.

Didn't know it came with a drive recorder... it's setup now.

HK sound system is solid.

The Nappa leather is very plush. The multi contour seats maybe have too many options?! Still trying to figure out the right setting. The massaging feature is much improved though... so relaxing.

The ambient lighting at night is very bright! Had it on green and I felt like I was in a UFO with all the tech. Super fun.

Those are just first thoughts. I haven't even tried the Apple Car Key yet!!

I pick up my 2021 M550i this Monday. I selected bluestone metallic with the black Napa leather interior. It is loaded with every option except for rear window shades and the optional sound system.

Here a few pics sent to me by my sales guy. So exciting.

on the M550i - I do really like the deep smoke in the rear tail lights over 2019 model. from the rear the stick on tail fin looks a bit smaller than the 2019, unless that's just the picture distorting the view - doesn't change the look, just something I noticed. On the front from strait on I also like the larger lower side vents/grilles, a nice mild facelift.

This looks SOOO GOOD! I ordered my 2021 M550i a week ago in Bernina Grey, I'm going to go in and see if I can change it to shadowline package this morning!

I just drove by one of our local dealers and they had gotten a few new 5s in. The LCI changes look much better and far less subtle in person than in photos. I really like the changes to the headlights and the grill, in particular. They had am M550 in Phytonic Blue and it looked awesome. I'm pondering jumping from Bluestone to that if I can, but will probably hold tight as Bluestone will be easier to maintain and looks awesome too.

The Shadowline option adds the black grill, lower cowl vent trim and side vent on front doors. It also adds body color painted mirrors. I love the look.

For those who are getting their cars now, a question: Is the automatic high beam assist included? The video posted elsewhere today lists that as one of the features you can add. Is it not standard with the LED lights we are all getting because we can't get laser here?

5AC, "Automatic High Beams" listed as standard on M550. I know I could never go back to sumoning up enough energy to grab the turn signal stalk with both hands to turn them on....Whew, I need a nap just thinking about it. :
