Mine has a set of Pirelli PZeros. Check the photos I posted yesterday for the details. I'm on the road at the moment.

Time for an 800 mile break in cruise. I'll post my thoughts on the car in a few days.

That way I could change the tires myself instead of having to go to a tire shop and then worry about trying to fit 4 tires into my car for the ride home.

I live in NJ, so I need to do a winter package also. For my 2018 M550, I bought the BMW winter package that came with a 19" wheels in a square setup with Pirelli Sottozero run flats. I changed them at home in my garage, no problem. I plan to use them for my 2021.

I would caution you about the Sottozeros, however... In each of the three winters, I had a bubble in one by the end of the season and needed to wait to have it replaced until the following November, since those tires are usually only available from September until they run out of stock which can be Feb or March. I actually have one in the basement now with a bubble. The good news it that these are covered either by a BMW wheel and tire insurance (they need to be installed on the car that has the coverage), or by Pirelli's 12 month warranty. I did not buy the insurance this time and the tire I need to have replaced should be covered by Pirelli, but we shall see.

Thanks good to hear. Thanks.

I purchased the wheel/tire insurance for the last four cars that I leased. All were Audis. In 12 years, I had one wheel and 1 tire replaced.

This is my first BMW and I purchased this car. I did not buy the wheel/tire insurance based on my previous experiences.

I will check out the BMW 19” wheel/tire packages as this seems like a more convenient option when compared to switching tires on the same wheels twice a year.

I took delivery of my 2021 M550i, my first BMW, on 8/31. So far, after owning 6 Audis with my last two being S6s, WOW!

Here is the Monroney sticker from my car. I got about a $6k discount off of the indicated list price.

My car did not include the deodorizer system in the glovebox. It us my understanding that thus is not for the USA market.

Sorry for the late response. No, the M550i doesn't come with that option.

My car has been dispatched from the factory! Hoping it MIGHT make the Themis, leaving port on 9/16 (arriving in NY/Newark 10/8), but more likely the Boheme leaving 9/26 (arriving 10/12 with the same number of stops as the Themis, so must be a faster boat or spending less time in port).

I’m at the port in Bremerhaven today. Hopefully it is not an extended visit like some of you are having. JRoyce - Ordered 8/17 and was done 9/10.

It arrived at the dealer over a week ago, they were backed up are were not able to deliver it until today. It was well worth the wait, since as of Sept 1, the residual went up a percent and they added an additional $500 credit if you had a recent BMW lease return, so my payment went down by over $35/mo and will save over $1300 in total.

A conundrum?

I feel like I kinda know you guys getting new 550s so here's my question: I think my car will be ready for delivery around Sep 25. The current loyalty is $750. Should I wait till 1 Oct for delivery to see if it goes up? What do you guys think? Doc, Bud, anyone?

Bit of a coin toss there. It might, but I don't know that it can be reliably predicted. It's early in the model year (for 2021) so it might stay stable.

I can offer this - if you're a member of the BMW Car Club of America, BMW offers a rebate (it varies based on series - 5 series cars get a $1K rebate) for members. If you haven't looked into it yet, you might want to check it out.

General - I can’t see the October program getting worse, so I don’t think you’ll lose anything. My car will be arriving smack dab in the middle of October, so I won’t be able to roll the dice on November.

Dr. Joe -

Have you looked at the port schedule to see if there are boats headed your way you should be getting on? https://www.walleniuswilhelmsen.com/schedules

I haven't been able to get info about what ship it will be on but I'm taking delivery in NJ.

I sure hope it's getting on the Themis departing tomorrow. If so, that'd leave me with a mid-October delivery. Wishful thinking!

Here is a picture -not the best, sorry about the glare. Grey Popular will be light and dark grey and give you a monochromatic look. Fineline Ridge is a mix of dark and light browns, more so than is shown on the configurator web site, and it gives a rich, contrasting look. Finalize Ridge is a straight across grain, whereas Grey Poplar is a burl. Both are glossy, versus Fineline Cove Matte and Fine Wood open pore Ash which are flat, no gloss.

I am very happy with Fineline Ridge, I wanted more of a contract vs. all black/grey.
