Nevermind. I'm dumb. I started the engine and everything came up now. Not sure why some of the buttons were missing before the engine was started

Probably just had to cycle through the coding and discover that you had these options. It's the same panel whether you have ventilated seats or not, it will just not display the button if you don't have them.

Glad it worked out. Pretty cool mod huh?

You want the metal G11 bezel? You can have the one I just took apart. It doesn't fit our G30s though.

Yeah probably some cycling. I was slightly freaking out because I had just spent like 40 mins removing the dash panels, all the little silver buttons and swapped em to black...only for it not to work properly!! Cool mod though, so subtle...but very nice. I was able to haggle with a junk yard on eBay. Kept searching passively for g11/g12 units and would "make an offer" well below their $300+ prices. Lost out on 4-5 of them for offering too low but this time, after some back and forth they finally accepted $150.

So just as a FYI to anyone who's done this or plans to, swapping the stock button control to this touch control will throw a shadow error...found this out while figuring out another issue. It's "801229: IAHK control unit - incorrect variant installed". Apparently this code also pops up when folks upgrade their controls to ceramic from plastic (though I have no idea how the computer would know what knobs are installed). Anyway, I don't really care about the shadow code...doesn't bother me much. Everything works as it should, I just think the computer sees that this is not the unit that came with the car so it mentions it as a code.

Interesting, I don't have that issue, probably because my control panel was made for the G30/F90.

Possibly. Unsure how it all works, but I never saw it until it was connected to one of those diagnostic tools and it was hidden in the background. I would've never known about it if I wasn't getting this random wastegate malfunction error diagnosed.

I also bought one with Ceramic controls as I have the option. So no mismatching.

Anyway, sounds like a trivial warning buried in ISTA.

Yeah, the 7 series unit I bought had the regular controls but I had ceramics, so maybe that's what caused the error. I was thinking it was the unit itself. Who knows...who cares...works fine! I still recommend it to anyone who's thinking about it. I hate how these NA spec cars miss out on things like this, the rear controls, the brake lights doubling as turn signals, I'm sure there's more. I see videos of 520s in China with the touch controls.
