Goodyear F1 sucks!!!

My 2018 M550 came stock with the Goodyear eagle F1 asymmetric threes. I’ve had two of them get bubbles in the side wall that I had to replace on my own dime. I wound up with brand new ones on the front and then my rears had no issues but we’re bald. I wanted to buy a new set of tires but didn’t wanna fork out for a complete set so I replaced my rear tires with a matching set of the asymmetric threes and I add a discount tires certificates on all four..

I have now gone through two more bubble sidewalls each time they give me a new tire and I buy another certificate for about 60 bucks.

I now have two brand new front tires, and my readers are still in good condition

I am annoyed with the inconvenience and would like to switch over to the Michelin pilot super sport run flats. I’m going to find out if the dealer would give me any kind of compensation. If I give them all four of my new tires back … they said they’re going to give me some credit for the tires. I haven’t got the number yet, but if it’s decent enough, I may just bite the bullet and buy a new set of Michelin pilot super sport run flats.

I’m curious if any of you have swapped from the eagle F1 asymmetric tire over to the Michelin pilot super sport run flat and what you thought about the change?

Half of me wants to do it so I get a better tire without this inconvenience but at the same time I just keep getting a new tire every few months for 60 bucks which means for a minimum investment. I’ll perpetually have brand new tires… ha!

Your experience with the Goodyear Asymmetric 3 is fairly common. It's an overall horrible tire. I highly suggest the Michelin Pilot Sport 3ZP.

Is the overall ride quality in handling better on the Michelin compare the Goodyear??

IMO the overall everything is better with the PS3ZP.

Goodyear now offers an Asymmetric 5 replacement. While this is a much better tire than the Asymmetric 3, I'd still suggest the PS3ZP and maintain the Michelin is better overall.

My dilemma is now I have two completely brand new asymmetric threes on the front and my rears probably have 80% tread left all of them have the certificates free replacement for any bubbles. If I get a bubble, I just paid 60 bucks for another warranty on the next one….

Essentially, I’m almost guaranteed to get bubbles in all of these tires over the next six months to a year and I just keep getting free tires. At that rate. If you amortize out the price of tires, it will become extremely cheap…. 😜

I have been using Michelins Pilot Sport 3s (ROF) and the tyres are very good. Generally, compared to other brands Michelins are way more durable in terms of miles ridden - well, depending on your driving style. I can recommend these.
