My 2020 is 9/19 dme tuned by carbahn. I'm so glad I don't have to run a piggyback.

I've never run a piggyback on my '20. Since posting my last reply on this thread I grabbed a Dragy and on another thread posted a 3.33s 0-60 time with BM3 Stage 1, no trans tune, on winter tires. I've seen times as low as 3.1 running a JB4. Maybe I could match that under optimal conditions but for me it seems that the 0-60 performance of both tunes is similar.

Mine goes in this week for the Carbhan tune. Cant wait to unleash the potential. How do you like your tune so far? Does it feel like the roughly 670 crank horsepower?

I'd be interested to know if anybody has ever posted dyno numbers for the BM3 Stage 1 tune on a '20 or later 550. My butt dyno confirmed a significant boost with the tune, but I don't know any actual numbers.

I've requested dyno graphs from bm3 many times and from other Tuners using bm3 and have yet to get one. If there's one from a Stage 1 93, I would be very curious to see.

BM3 quote a 23% increase in power and 12% torque for stage 1 on 93.

By my calculations if the various baseline figures of 480hp and 550ft-lb at the wheels then stage 1 should net 590HP and 616Lb-ft at the wheels.

That seems reasonable for a conservative OTS tune.

What is unclear is how big a difference catless DPs make, but the M5 forums says the factory DPs are pretty good so you won't be making much less with them vs. catless. i think going to E30/E50 will get you a lot more than a custom 93 tune and catless DPs. Hassle is running E anything all the time.

Fair enough, but if you read carefully the BM3 site says "up to" 23% power and 12% torque. So actuals will be less but we don't know how much less. They also don't say whether the baseline is the factory spec power or the actual power that the engine produces. That's another significant variable.

These questions would be easily answered with a few dyno runs.

If I wasn't just going OTS, but rather straight to a custom tune I'd do this. I like tweaking things slowly to see how much improvement I can get.

I suspect I'll get bored quickly so I could do a baseline, OTS stage 1 and then custom on the dyno. Not sure when I will be doing that, but might be later in the year.

I'm hoping some xHP tweaks and stage 1 OTS I can do a 10.8 1/4. We shall see late September.

Exactly. Like what's the power curve like and simply-- why won't they provide a dyno?? Like they just resend that same vague % chart that everyone points to. It's discomforting for sure.

It's also discomforting that they have never published an update to the original N63T3 tune, released 2-1/2 years ago. I feel like it's an afterthought to them.

How did your numbers turn out? I keep putting off the tune but finally got my downpipes put in so I'm finally ready.

I have a m850 but I put in RVG however... they didn't ijitially fit (despite being assured they would) so my shop had to do a lot of work to get them to fit. If you have a finicky shop they'll just tell you sorry, they don't fit. I wouldn't recommend RVG.
