How much was it?

There are 2 DMEs. In Australia it cost me $875 for both.

Might be cheaper places in the US.

EDIT: you should only need bench unlock not FEMTO as the DME pre-July. Fingers crossed.

Thanks! If they unlock and you flash back to stock and go into dealer, will they lock it again?

I picked up one of these so I would not have to worry about it.

My understanding is only if they do an update. Being a pre-LCI 2020 like mine I’ve never had the dealer update anything. I think the pre-LCI 2020 is a fairly unique model and there are no updates. It can’t do OTA as the IDrive is I think v6.5 etc etc.

I hadn’t thought about whether I flash to stock or leave it. It’s not like they won’t find its tuned if there is an issue so I probably won’t even go back to stock for when it goes in.

Thanks for all the comments!

What tunes are you all running?

JB4 Piggyback? Racechip? BM3 seems pretty popular?!

I have BM3 OTS 93 stage 1. Massively noticeable. Based on other cars it's not only quicker to 100, but should a full 2 seconds quicker 100-200. It really pushes you back in the seat on a roll.

I plan to custom tune once I get bored.

That sounds exciting! Let us know how that goes when you're ready. Do you plan any other mods before getting a custom tune? I've been thinking about the AA catted downpipe and cooler plugs, but that's about it.

Good question. I like how quiet the car is now when not in sport so I probably won’t go catless. AA Catted downpipe might be an answer, but I don’t know how much better over stock it is.

I’m probably better of getting a custom ethanol tune. Plugs etc.

Given Bjames93 is low 10s and I think his only hardware mod is intakes, and standard downpipes, I might focus on the tuning side.
