530e air conditioner question

Does anyone know how to keep the a/c running when you get out of the vehicle? The car shuts off once you open the drivers door. Checked and couldn't find any settings in iDrive.

Don't know of any way to leave it running but I just lock the car and then press the diamond button on the key fob to turn it back on....

Just short press the gas paddle to make the engine running, you can open the door without the car shut off.

Did you go to Vehicle settings > Doors/Locks > Disable the shut off car once door open feature?

I have the same issue, and I've disabled above feature, but no luck, engine still shuts off when opening the door. Also, impossible to drive the car with a door open, eg opening and looking out when parking tight or just casually moving it. It bothers me a lot.

Mine has an option for "activate comfort climate now" that you can select with the iDrive when you turn off the car. It pops up on the main screen every time. I used this a lot if I have the dog in the car and with a sufficient charge the climate will stay on for 30 mins.

Sounds like an internal option identical to using the phone app to precondition the car.
