Especially annoying in winter. Car looks disgusting inside during those months and you can't clean it every day because it'll be dirty the next day again and essentially a waste of time.

Speaking of winter, it freaking snowed overnight and still snowing a bit right now in Toronto. What in the F#$% is going on with weather!?

Also, very important, with booster seats and the nature of the seat belt buckle being recessed into the seat my kids had real trouble strapping themselves in as the booster seat would cover the buckle. We absolutely needed some 6" seat belt buckle extenders. Its a detail that BMW should've picked up on when designing the car or at the very least understand the issue and include a pair of extenders or something.
Are your kids that tiny requiring booster seats past age 6?

And disagree this car tons of rear legroom. I can seat behind myself and still have 4-6 inches knee room before touching the seatback.

Yeah the G31 variant would be great to have in the US for the extra SUV type storage. Honestly I think the E450 wagon does a great job but can't get over the hideous rear end styling.
And the price. Those are built to order and MBUSA they are purchased by their wealthiest customers.

In Canada, you're required by law to use a booster seat for kids between 18kg -36kg, less than 4'9" tall and under the age of 8. Mine are 6 and 8, under 36kg and under 4'9".

And I think you've misunderstood what I said about the leg room. For adults in normal seating position there's plenty of leg room. but when kids are sitting there with a booster their legs are not long enough to hang down because of depth of the back seat. Does that make sense?

We have a 7 month old and a 9 year old. My wife has a 2018 X3 and I drive a 2018 M550i.

The X3 is much easier to put the infant seat into because you're doing it while standing. I find that buckling the baby seat in and taking it out, is back breaking when you're leaning down vs SUV standing.

Both vehicles are spacious enough but on road trips, the X3 wins especially the panoramic roof and the roofline being higher makes it feel more airy and roomy. The x3 does feel slightly narrower and front seats of the 5 series are more comfortable.

Thank you for all of the advice - ended up getting a CPO 540 this weekend. Already loving the car, it's a real joy to drive.
