California is just overpriced for anything you insure just like everything here. The M550 for me is a little more expensive than others but its definitely not the worst and was only a few hundred more than I paid before per 6 months.

Damn. I’m definitely paying more than that. Probably because people in Memphis drive like blind toddlers and half of them aren’t insured.

I’m an elderly gent (not as elderly as Joe) with a perfect driving record (never got caught driving wrecklessly), no claims and perfect credit score…. I also think the advanced driving assistant package helps as well.

$103/mo for $500k/$500k and $1k deductible. With USAA in Bonita Springs, FL. That's with significant discounts since I have home owners and umbrella with them. Its going up to $138/mo in April (thanks, Ian), but it will go down to somewhere in between when we move to Sarasota in May.

Just renewed with Progressive for two cars: M550i and Lexus RX350, $795/6mo in MD. Full coverage, $500 deductible, add-ons: roadside assistance and $1k worth "custom upgrades" added to both cars.

We definitely get screwed in FL on insurance costs. I had a huge sticker shock when I moved from NJ to FL. The COL has also skyrocketed in FL such that it is comparable to many NE states now.

I don't even know how much the M550 is. $496.35 is my monthly payment. Five cars total, all drivers have perfect records, one is 20 years old which pumps up the volume. All cars have $1,000 deductible and rental provision. So $6,000 per year and the policy is part of some umbrella thing. I also get some kind of AAA discount.

Massachusetts sucks to insure a car. State sets the rates.
