Vacheron Constantin Idle Chat Thread

Didn't see one, so I started one. Specifically, I wanted to point out the new releases and say how much I LOVE the new Historiques 1921 American in Platinum. Whoa. The Hodinkee coverage is here at this link.

VC's are great, specially the mentioned one is for me one of the holy grails.
One that I would really consider an -Exit- watch.
Talking 'bout the 47052. Stunner...

Would love to see a picture of your QDL. I don't own one, but I love them.

This is the VC part of my young collection. Looking to add a more interesting complication, but my recent purchase M2 purchase has set back the timeline. Check out the Vegas thread for some REAL stunners...

Gorgeous! Need to add that to the list... although I was liking the Black dial model when I checked them out online.

I got a black rubber strap for the Overseas too - I like that look a lot. Pretty easy to swap, but not as easy as the new Overseas. I am also thinking the new OS WorldTimer is one I would LOVE to get... So many watches, so much money...

You have to experience this watch whether or not you buy it . I have a penchant for gray / black dials but I wanted white dial because it looked easier to read at a glance

Quai de L'Ile Stainless Steel

Went and tried this on today. Wow. I was impressed for an entry level piece. Great wrist presence

The Quai De L'Ile white dial is just gorgeous! Price point will make it desirable for many.

Great shots ,thanks for sharing . I have white dial but black dial is also equally gorgeous
Funny thing in a good way for me is that this Quai De Series definitely look bigger in size than they actually are .
I laid it side by side with Rolex Datejust II 116334 and almost same size according to the catalog values but when on wrist on the hand it looks way bigger in size

I decided to add lume shots ,it is brighter than I thought it would be

As fall comes, the strap is off and the bracelet is back.

Speaking of Overseas... the new Overseas collection is officially out. Saw the whole line up at SIHH in January - wow. (Although, I actually like the lack of subtlety of the Gen 2 bracelet, but everything else about the new one is incredible. And the World Time and Ultrathin models (based on Cal 1120) are really truly something special.

An updated Traditionelle Perpetual Chrono. That Lemania based movement is just insane! Just wow. Now, the small matter of being able to afford one

It's too expensive anyway. I like it's styling though. If they stripped out annual calendar and moonphase just keeping the chronograph function would be more budget friendly and encase it in stainless steel case

Yeah, I have read some interesting perspective (opinion) reporting on this. While some are moving toward lower-cost complications, the top brands (like VC and PP) are doing the opposite. They are stratifying their lines - lower cost "simple" watches and even higher cost complications. Where I, personally, think they need to do more is in the mid-complications. I would love to see a nice annual calendar.
