BimmerCode and BimmerLink apps for iOS

Has anyone seen these?

http://bimmercodeapp.com
http://bimmerlink.com

I just found these yesterday...it looks like they are $26.99/each. I ordered one of these to try it with:

https://amazon.com/dp/B01FU5MVI8

Some of the early reviews seem to indicate it works as expected, and the developer seems responsive. I assume it's not as capable as E-SYS, but looks like it may be a good option.

Update: huge thread here:

With Expert mode, you can change anything. The downside is it will not VO code like E-sys and you need to buy separate app (Bimmerlink) to clear any errors.

I am not sure whether it now support G-series though.

Thanks for the links. That sounds like a great way to start coding. Hopefully it supports the G30.

BimmerCode supports F and G Series; BimmerLink (which is for reading data, but also clearing errors) appears to only support F Series at the moment.

How come these apps "Code" BMW without E-Sys?

Smart developers figured out how to use Vgate (ELM) adapters to communicate with vehicle.

Well, I coded a few things today on G30. Pretty simple stuff, just disabling iDrive warning and enabling video via USB and video in motion, but worked as expected. Few G30 ECMs supported at present, but developer claims more are on the way.

Head unit has been around awhile in other chassis so no surprise it is supported. What other ECU's can be coded?

Really beyond Head Unit it looks like just ASD is the only other thing working at present. Note that you can't go into expert mode to view the directory structure in non-supported ECUs, so the functionality is limited. E.g., no ACSM.
