Yeah, the actual build process is not very long, which if you think about it is logical, since they need to build a lot of these.

I waited for quite a while for my car to get to the port, then a couple weeks for a boat and then the boat ride (to Baltimore) was more than 2 weeks. From the port to the dealer (SE Michigan) was only a few days, but I got screwed by the car coming in late on the Friday before Labor Day and the dealer being closed Saturday.

Yeah. The longest parts are waiting on the build to start and (now for me) waiting for it to be transported over.

I've moved to Awaiting Carrier Assignment so hopefully it will be in the US in a couple of weeks. Was yours delayed getting out of port due to the holidays in Germany last month?

Can't wait to see pics of yours

No, I'm pretty sure it was not. It was in motion much of August, it just took a while to get loaded on a boat. Probably a dozen vehicle haulers came and went before mine got loaded, so obviously other cars were getting loaded.

Just picked mine up today and was out driving most of the afternoon/evening and love it a lot. I'm really happy with it.

I ordered my 530e built as well and I went with the mocha nappa leather. Way, way, way better than the Dakota. Did you add the leather dash? I think it finishes off the interior.

Mine is now 20 months old and other than the small storage compartment under the light switch not always staying closed (I have emailed by CA telling her that it happened and I will want it addressed when I next come in, which looks like in 4 months for my one year service) the car has been rock solid. If the storage compartment is the only problem after 20 months, I am happy.

I predict you will enjoy your new car. While I would always want more power (I did grow up watching "Home Improvement"), the car does have ample power to pull away from a street light and to pass cars on a road with a 75 mph speed limit.

I do a lot of local driving, and I have a 240 volt charger in my garage so I am able to charge during the day after trips. Given that, I have been getting between 700 and 1,000 miles on a tank of gasoline (12.4 gallon tank). I don't particularly care about mpg but I bought the phev because I do care about the environment. I also like to drive in a spirited manner so my compromise is the max EV for local driving and full out power for country roads and highways.

I didn't go with the leather dash as I was worried about how well it would hold up in the 5-7 year timeframe since I can't garage the car where I live. Though I do agree with you that it does a great job to complete the interior.

I am very much looking forward to the car as it seems like a perfect balance between efficiency and power. My wife and I share our car (I work from home so driving is heavily tipped toward the leisure scale) and she prefers economical driving and votes a Smart Car as the best choice. I prefer a much more sporty driving style and this car can really wear both hats well.

Where I hope it performs well is on longer road trips. We do 1K mile RT road trips to see family fairly frequently and during those electric charge may deplete and I'm hoping the car will still feel good to drive in those scenarios. My understanding is eBoost is always there so it shouldn't feel slow ever.

The only option I didn't add that would have been a nice to have is probably Night Vision, but I am not entirely sure how much I'd use it even if I did get it honestly. More of a "cool" feature I guess. The Adaptive LED headlights should be more than enough.

My guesstimate is we'll have the car around 10/5 or 10/12.

The car is now At The Dealership and I'll hopefully be able to take delivery very soon.

60 days so far which is a long time, but pretty quick also when you consider everything involved.

I have taken delivery and the whole process was 9 weeks.

Once I find some time over the next week I'll get some pictures up and a minor writeup of how "lite" the new iDrive 7 is on the MY2020 G30.

Congratulations on your new car. I am patiently waiting for my 2020 530 E M Sport! Rhodonite silver and Ivory white Napa. Ordered at my dealership 10-18 got status 111 on 10-21 and still in order received status. 😳 can’t wait for production to start. So lucky yours started very quickly

How long does it usually take to be “in transit” feels like forever lol.

Thanks! Hopefully your wait won't be much longer. The wait is the worst part of the whole process!

Your dealer may be able to provide you with the build week for your production number so you can have a reasonable estimate as to when it will at least move through the factory.

If you're already on a ship I'd call BMW CS or reach out to your dealer to find out the ship name. Then you can track the ship and it helps to give you a solid idea of how long you'll be waiting. I was in transit for 16 days as noted in the first post. My dates are very accurate as I tracked the car daily and recorded the details.

I have a family get together over Thanksgiving and will be driving just over 300 miles to get there. I expect that the drive will be uneventful but I will let you know. It will be my first long drive.
