G30 530E -Strange and sudden jerk when shifting from R to D and D to R

Hello guys

Anyone seen this before?

Today I noticed that my car jerks when changing the gear lever from
D to R and R to D when stationary, while depressing brakes - like your normally would.

I just noticed it. In the video it’s apparent (see attached YouTube video). Notice the camera ia not moving it’s the car.

My car doesn’t jerk when switching between D and R or vice versa. I have had it jerk a bit occasionally when switching gears at low speeds, but BMW determined that was normal. Never what you’re experiencing though.

Unless it's more severe than what that video makes it look like, I wouldn't call that a "jerk." Mine does (what appears to be) the same thing, and it's not anything I would call a "jerk." It's just the torque moving from the reverse gear to the forward gear (or vice versa).

If you're getting excessive bump during that shift, it could be that your idle RPM is too high, or maybe the trans fluid could do with a changing.

47000 kilometres no fault codes.

I am going to call the dealer - should these things be covered under warranty?

Apparently the 530e has fairly soft engine mounts to allow the switch from ice to EV to be unnoticeable.

Maybe a pneumatic engine mount has failed. imho it would be covered under warranty but check the small print.

Please post up what the outcome is.

There wasn’t a problem according to dealer. They let me try a new G60, which also did it - not as much, but still some.
