2018 540 different dash gauges?

I bought a 2018 540i individual and I absolutely love it but I have noticed my dash gauges are different from the reviews videos that can be found on youtube for example

Does anyone knows why?

Maybe is an update or something that can be done?

This is how the dash gauges are mostly shown on videos:

My 2017 looks like the first image

First image is taken during daytime

Other images with red look like they are taken at night.hence red gauge?

The bottom display is chosen by you , you can show mileage or the instant fuel consumption for example

The clock may an option you can hide on the display as well defined in idrive

There may be some subtle differences potentially based upon year. ( when I got my istep upgraded in 2018 I say a very minor change although it would be easy to miss )

Have you got a shot during daylight for comparison?

You have the older analog cluster, I think it was 6WA whereas the first picture is the digital 6WB cluster. You can buy the digital cluster from eBay or bimmer-tech.

In my dash it will turn white on sport mode or on day light but what I mean is that the tachometer and speedometer style is different

so is it something that will involve changing the dash cluster? I though it was something that could be fixed with software update

As I mentioned above, you have analog gauges with a digital display at the bottom. So you will need to buy a whole new cluster (6WB) if you want it to be digital.

As Beerman 80 reported, you have the older, analog gauges. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them. The other ones you show are the hybrid digital gauges. The newest BMWs have the fully digital gauges with the ass backwards tach.

My recommendation is KEEP YOUR GAUGES.

They are not "older", just lower spec. The gauges you have are the "basic" and are analogue, then comes 6WA and 6WB in the end. Your option is/was standard on all G30´s in DK, and must have been in other countries as well. 6WA (partly digital) and 6WB (full digital) were options. My old G30 had the exact same:

+1 on "Keep your gauges"

josehf34 Don't waste time and money on 6WB retrofit. This things offers very limited customization.

I thought that the car only came with two panel types
The part digital

..and the full digital, which is as per image OP posted above. That also changed slightly with the removal of the rings glued to the face of the panel in later versions, as well as for the LCI.

OP's dash still looks like the full LCD panel though (i.e. there doesn't appear to be actual analogue parts). Other than color, does the display change between driving modes? Could it be just a coding thing?

If you look close enough you can see the only digital part is the bottom center and the actual gauges are analog.

Here is another pic showing they are analog (you can see the needles).

As beerman80 said, different types of clusters - older analog, newer full digital in pre-LCI models with idrive 6.
LCI is idrive 7 with the completely different (and horrid) dash

The analogue one is NOT an "older version". It was standard on many (tax heavy) markets right up untill iDrive7 was introduced. 6WA and 6WB has always been an option here.

As mentioned, the analogue version was standard in i.e. Denmark, since we have so heavy taxes on car. Sat-nav wasn´t standard either...

Just checked the configurator on BMW.de - and not that it´s directly linked to this, but even the LCI has analogue gauges as standard on some markets...

josehf34 , might be a silly question, but does your 540i have heads up display? Wonder if the analogue gauge is for G30 without HUD.
