Somehow this slow hype-building doesn't work for me. It's after all just one well-tuned 1er, not much more. Why to market it as if this would change the whole M-brand??

Vision ED is the different story, maybe beginning of something remarkable, who knows...but this 1M unveiling step-by-step is pretty boring. Just give us the car: if it works, ok, it will stay in headlines like current M3 and speak for itself.

Well maybe it's just aimed at me then because just when I think I might be put off by the latest bit of information (LCI lights etc) something else comes along and builds up my expectations again.

For me this is one hell of a rollercoaster ride.

Agreed. Worries me that they think this is necessary or appropriate for the market segment of BUYERS (vs gawkers/talkers).

Is the actual product just not that hot? Starting to fear stock iS motor with suspension and body work Speaking of which, how gaudy IS this car gonna be? Looks like GIANT front fender vents a la Corvette grand sport and the front chin with slots and the rear fenders with slots and the jacked up rear bumper skirt. Hope I'm bad wrong but looks like a body kit you'd see on a civic so far.

Hello mate. Did i take your post the wrong way. The unveil is the Art De Triumph and not CDG? Have you placed your deposit did you say?

I understand, but after all the look of the car is secondary thing - for me performance counts. M3 GTS is ok looking like E92M3, but nothing very special in visual terms. But runs like devil! IMO these teasers make no sense since you can't judge 1M even after full unveil - we have to still wait for track tests before real opinion about the car.

Putting remarkable concentration to exterior look makes me think that it's the most interesting part of the car...

I love aggressive looks and sporty detail on a BMW. I'm more than happy to get these teasers. Would rather have all these little teasers now, than nothing and just have a full reveal in December/Jan.

This sort of marketing appeals to me. I like cars to look good and drive good in equal measure.

What I find interesting is that people know when the full reveal is. So if they just want the full reveal, why don't they just come back in Dec/Jan and get what they want?

I think the reason some people don't do that is because they like to whine on forums.

Yes. I was always considering putting a deposit down, then with the limited run rumours and following the first reveal I decided I had to secure a spot.

I haven't waited over 9 years for an M to be told they haven't got any left!

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean regarding my post.

Saw you put a deposit down too. You get any details from the dealer?

That is definitely CF on the diffuser. You can even see the lines in it. Not that it really matters, but it is pretty much a no brainer at this point.

I see and understand your point.

However, I'm no Andy Priaulx. I'm happy with the way my MINI Cooper drives so as long as M can make the 1M as much fun and as enjoyable of which I have no doubt then I will be happy.

So for me, looks are just as important as the way it drives at this level.

If it looks like a dog I still wouldn't buy it if it was the best driving car in the world.

On the other pictures it was obvious, but on this one, I can't really see the aluminum finned M-Diff...is it just me, or is it not there? That would basically ruin the car if missing. Hope its not the case.

I disappointed from a parts perspective, because I would like to take every part possible from the 1M for my 135i!

I am excited for the official unveiling, but I also want to know if the SPECS will be made available in Detriot as well.....

I might have missed that detail, but I don't think the car's official engine output and other specs have been said to be made public in Detroit....

I would hope that the "official launch" in December before Detroit will include specs. If it's just the final visual reveal, that would just leave us hangin'.

I'd imagine that the specs would be revealed at Detroit as well (fingers crossed)

agree with this 100%... IMO The 135i for the street atm handles well and is as fast with a tune if not faster than the 1M , but indeed the suspension, rims, lsd, and fatter rubber, etcetc, wide body kit. CF most likely in a few places and some interior cosmetics and much more will make 1M VERY SPECIAL to look at and drive great and will be fast... many......The only thing holding me back is $$$$$$$$$$$...and maybe a M3 or next generation 1M down the road, after all i have only had the 135i for 9 months and lovin it!!(ALL BUT 3 WEEKS OF IT HPFP related issues)

I can't believe people are still debating shadowline at the rear. It's CF. Even the first reveal I pointed out the CF and people started saying it was a reflection. But I saw CF weave, and now we see the whole diffusor and your still saying it's something else. Y'all are crazy!
