Last week I got a notification on my car 2017 530i that I have a parking lamp/drl malfunction. Brought the car into the stealership and they determined it was the led module. Replaced it free of charge since the car is still under the CPO warranty. 1 day later on the same DRL I was having issues with now one of the DRL is on and the other is yellow ( inner drl is yellow ). No notification popped up or anything the only way I knew was because I noticed it was out when I was behind another car at the light that one was out. I attached a picture to show you what I mean. Do you think the whole assembly needs to be replaced? If so is that usually covered under the CPO warranty, I know on the original 4 year 50k warranty it is? I just hit 51k last month.

Happened on mine with the ICON LED headlights. Turned out the DRL LED module was bad. It overheated and partially melted the fiber optic for the DRL too which necessitated replacing the entire headlight assembly. Luckily it was covered under CPO otherwise it would've been a very costly repair!

Same exact thing that happened to mine. Just got it back from the shop and the diagnosis was exactly what you said. The headlight alone was $3500 good thing i'm still under CPO warranty. Now im thinking is the same thing going to happen on the other side.

Glad to hear! Yeah, my SA told me if I wasn't under warranty it would've cost me like $6k. We both LOL'd. No way I was paying that. You can find the ICON adaptive LED headlights on eBay for around $600-800 all day long. The install seems pretty straightforward and no coding needs to be done, since you can just swap over your FLE module from the old headlight.

I too am concerned that the other side will go out at some point too, but so far (1 year later) it hasn't, so fingers crossed! Thankfully, I still have CPO until May 2023, so I got another (almost) two years in the event the other side goes out.
