Have you heard any updates about BM3?

Do you need the JB4 to get rid of the CEL from downpipes?

Jb4 doesn't get rid of CEL, Flash Tunes do.

Latest update from Dzenan from ProTuningFreaks is that they're actively working on the OBD unlock for their G20 330i test car which happens to be the same DME as M550i. And that we should expect it 'soon'.

Blank

I got 2 max 3 weeks left in me. I don't think I can wait any longer.

60-130@ 8.6, can you achieve that with just your flash and DP or do you need the JB4 along with it?

Prob combo of both but I'm sure can get pretty close with just flash and DP.

My BPM tune is installed and I'm very happy with the outcome! It cost me $1399. Definitely more power throughout all rpms and feels much faster now. No error codes or any other issues whatsoever. I will take it to the dyno and drag strip soon and share results. Communication and support through the process was excellent and Mike from BPM ensured proper installation for me. Very easy to go back to stock, it takes about 5 minutes to put it back.
Overall great product and I highly recommend it to anybody who is looking for more useable power without sacrificing drivability or reliability.
So how does this compare to something like JB4?

Figured I would post this here, given the recent thread.

Sorry in advance for the long story. Here's what I have done on my car: Dinan Stage 1 with Dinan exhaust.
I've been pleased with day-to-day driving and response, albeit a little slower than I would like (given the warranty aspect, they're going to play it safe so I get this point). I ran my car in a 1/2 mile race this past weekend in Colorado Springs and got to 136 mph before getting a Drivetrain Malfunction warning that cut power to the engine. This was on the first run and only run as I couldn't get the error to clear before they closed for the competition results. I didn't use LC and had it in Sport Plus. I was hoping to try a couple different combinations (LC and Sport +, just Sport) to see how the results varied, but will have to wait until next year. When we left the race, the Drivetrain Malfunction message cleared and hasn't come back. I'm guessing the car was just pissed at me--temps were comfortable (around 50), but I was sitting idle for about 15 minutes before running so it could've just been the ECU feeling the heat and throwing the message. There were a lot of different factors at play, including altitude, but was hoping for low to mid-140's which was what a stock F90 ran last year (one this year with a tune ran 153).

In the end, it would be interesting to see the results from a different tune. If there's nothing new from Dinan in the next year, I might roll the dice on something different before next year's run (although the DT Malfunction had me a little worried).

thanks for sharing, but the times posted are significantly slower than stock times. Could be the elevation or the car was in limp mode? I know you were going mostly for the MPH, so not sure if you just had a soft start and just wanted to get to speed without really aiming for a good time.

Agreed. I was trying to gauge everything, not just top mph, so wasn't really impressed across the board. I didn't do anything different at the start, just punched it with these results. I know there's loss with altitude, but these were surprising.

Very nice you're gauging everything!
Did you try the 60-130 test from a 45-50 roll as well?
It may be slight slower from 0 but we have to understand AWD is never going to be as fast as RWD cars in 60-130 territory ini a 4,000+ lb sedan right?

Stock F80 M3 Comp Pkg 444HP I did 11.1-11.4 60-130

I wanted to say I spoke to RK tunes today about a couple things I wanted. He didn't try to sell me anything and was real honest about what to do or not to do and what to watch out for when messin with our cars and I'm not a customer. I've spoken to other businesses in the past and was impressed with the knowledge and honesty. Figured I'd mention how professional he was

Not sure when it's coming out. I will gladly wait since it's something we can tune easily. I setup an account just to play around and was amazed how many different tunes you can download.

Sucks about RK...
So bootmod is getting M550 to begin testing? Been wondering when they'd have a tune.

We are a Dealer for Bootmod3 due to our appreciation and success in the Tristate area we decided to use the bm3tuning as our Team name, IG and website that we just recently kicked off.

Keep us posted when you develop for M550. Have Dinan on my car now, but always looking

No! I sold my draggy when I traded my M5 in on this car in May. I can do the bypass plug in 5 minutes and there is a 4wheel dyno shop close to me,
Planning on going there and doing baseline runs and runs with Dinan. It's just so hot and humid down here I'm scared to be disappointed in the numbers. I normally dyno my cars within the first few weeks before I do any modding.

As long as you Dyno same day same weather that will be your gains/delta .. make sure Dyno shop adds the Weather Factors settings to show in the runs.
(So this way if someone Dyno in 40F iif he does baseline + tune those will be his gains, and if you do 100F dyno that day same for you)

Dragy is great because $140 you can do baseline / tune today and then next month some more when weather is better etc.

I would only do same day runs with in 20 min of each other without Dinan and with it back in or visa versa so its point blank numbers. Yeah miss my draggy. May grab another. Track is 15 min from my house where they do test and tune in Friday's. Just waiting for weather to cool down before I try running it, probably 4 months
