M550 deal. Let me know what you think.

This is for a car they have on the lot. Zero negotiations. 59% residual and .00177 MF. They said MF could improve based on credit. First months, tax, tags and fees up front - $4700.

Thanks. Sounds like you got a very nice deal. BTW - I see you owned an F10 M5. How's it compare to your M550?

The M550 is so consistent in power delivery.
It feels less agile than the M5, more disconnected in some ways (handling/road feel), and not as rude of a car if that makes sense.
M5 stock for stock would slowly walk away in a 40 roll run, stop light to stoplight you can't even compare, the M550 launches every time. I used to hope I wouldn't be challenged under 40-50mph because of wheel spin .
I think with the 2020 model you won't be missing anything stock for stock in terms of performance and you'll enjoy the xDrive aspects of the car, it's a dream in the rain and around corners if you get on it.
Transmission is just as fast as M5's was.
If your like me you'll end up with Dinan then a full stage 1 tune, resonator delete for listening and driving pleasure

Thanks. I just read a long thread about former F10 owners. Sounds like the M550 is the right option for me.

If you can afford the extra $200-300/month go for the M5. You won't have any need to mod really. I've spent in past 5 months of owning new car about $4k on Dinan, then tune, spacers and resonator delete and some ancillary items.
I just always deny to myself that I'm going to end up modding my cars, 4 weeks later I'm researching them, and I have to keep my mods secret from fiancé as I'm always telling her we're on a budget

If your tastes are like mine perhaps look at 2019 M5's or take over a lease that has 12-24 months left. I keep pondering the idea of putting mine up on one of those sites and taking over a lease on the f90 M5.

Not to hijack my own thread. I'm sure I'd like to have the M5, but this will be my DD. I have a 911 for my fun car. I like the idea of a understated beast of the M550. As for mods, that's the best part of getting a new car. I'm already thinking of doing what you did; Dinan tune and resonator delete. I'm also thinking the Dinan exhaust and springs.

You'll love the resonator delete. It's easy, you can do one or both. I did one and then had second taken out. It's a great deep tone, and probably the most inexpensive mod .
Dinan was a nice boost, definitely perked/woke up the engine. But I've heard some sound clips and the 2020 sounded really good stock.

Yeah. I've seen some of the clips on YouTube. Does comfort mode make it quite? I also read the 2020 engine has 2 less resonators and sounds like the M850i.

I saw pics and 2020 has the same 2 sets a front and rear resonator. In comfort with flaps closed its hardly noticeable cruising on highway. I flip flop coding flaps open all the time or letting them stay on automatic open close. ( if your In Comfort and go past maybe half throttle they open around 2800 rpms until you let off)
Experiment with removing one if your worried about being overbearing like I was. I did one and a couple months later I did the other.
I removed the rear set first. This also allows you to turn off or code off the ASD so you actually hear your engine and not the speakers

There is a lease incentive of $4500 on the 550 if I recall. And you also get $2000 loyalty.

Just calculate what exactly the discount is that dealer gives you on the on-the-lot car. Sounds pretty small discount to me if you take away those $6500.

Not sure how 550 market is, but I'd say 8-9% off MSRP before any incentives would be a fair deal.

Watch out for that MF, also looks marked up to me.

Don't know what's going on here lately when people assess deals. Walk over to leasehackr forums to see how much of a bubble we are in over here.

Good luck with decisions

Hey man, with due respect your incentives and MF might be different when you bought. And please mention all numbers when you compare. Dealers are smart in making it look like an awesome deal

We all appreciate as fellow members while pitching in. My opinion is that deals from different times of the year should not be compared.

Enjoy in good health. Cheers!

I just heard back from the dealer. He said his initial proposal was 7% off MSRP as a dealer discount, but he could go to 8% off plus $2000 lease credit, $500 USAA and he added $1000 conquest credit after I brought it to his attention.

Sorry I don't have lease papers on me. Just remember basics, Sticker price, discount I remembered and monthly payment.

That's nice! I kept thinking dealers would try to hold money with the 2020's!

Agreed. Also, different regions have different incentives.

So BB, have you ordered your car yet?

I would aim for at least %10 discount pre incentives. Take a look at the leasehackr forums, there are brokers out there that could get you a 550i for around $750 a month or less based on msrp.

Around 10% off will not get you into a normal lease (term/mileage/down) for $750 on a new properly configured M550i (mid $80K).

But... depending on how the lease is structured, just about ANY monthly payment is possible on ANY car.

I would love to hear from anyone driving new M550i for around $750, and what their terms were.

I know, I love how some car ads you'll see in real small print at the bottom "price includes $5000 customer cash contribution". Dealers play so many games. Infinity advertises a "bi weekly" lease rate. If you don't know what your doing you can get ripped off bad. Problem is most people get convinced they are getting a good deal and they better do it fast or they will lose the car.
It sucks the industry is like that but any sales game is the same.
