I recommend painting or powder coating over covers which tend to look bleh. you can easily get the M Sport stickers online. best to apply them before applying clear coat so they’re protected

So, i would be getting them painted at a shop, and I don’t really think I should put the stickers if they aren’t M sport lol, but I am thinking of painting or powder coating them red. I got a quote of $800 should i ask around some more?

sorry, i assumed you had an M Sport variant. i don't know a good reference price point for brake calipers, unfortunately, but getting 4 wheels done at my shop is $600. calipers may cost a bit more due to their location on the vehicle and/or if your shop removes them prior to painting?

It sounds like you’re not sure whether you want them cause they’re blue, or cuz you feel that your driving characteristics are seeking physical improvement In stopping lol
Honestly, the size difference in rotor makes the brakes feel SIGNIFICANTLY better, delivering way more confidence in the overall drive. It’s in my top 3 must have/retrofit options for this platform. When you’re due for new rotors, just purchase a pair of used front calipers (plenty of options on eBay, especially from G11/12), the OEM paint finish will make your diy look like it was done wit crayons. |

If you do it yourself, do not use POR-15 Caliper Painting Kit. It's a two part paint process that is epoxy base for longevity. I had to put several coats on for coverage where it has runs in it. Plus, it takes 24 hours to cure Unless I got a bad batch, I do not recommend it.

Use G2 caliper paint. It’s a two stage paint process. You do have to brush it on your caliper but it’s not terrible. If you can paint a trim around your house using a brush, you can do this as well. Don’t use too much paint when applying and you are ok.
If you don’t want to deal with the paint, I have blue calipers for sale here: https://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1990024 |
