about 2/3 of cats cannot stand the scent of mint, maybe plant some near the driveway?
Spraying a cat with water works well, and shouldn't upset the animal-rights' people, so long as it wasn't a fire hose or one of those capacitor discharge cannons (discharging sufficient electricity through a drop of water can punch a hole in a plate of steel) |

To keep this cat off you should kill it. My friend has an outdoor cat, and it is the biggest f***ing pain in the a** that I know. I scare it away from my car. I set the panic off. He runs a mile

The water idea seams like the best option here. I will definately try to work on this next time i see that damn cat. I'll try to take some pictures as well. The claws did now scratch the car, just the rubbing on the dirt on the car scratched it. It more like a swirl mark then a scratch, but noticable to me none the less

Did you say the claws did NOT scratch the car? Might want to look closer...
My marks were and will definately be made from claws....they were very distinct on my previous car... |

Cat on Car
I have 3 cats and they love the warm bonnet of my E90 when I return. For cats the warm hood is the best bed ever.
What I did to prevent these cats from getiing onto the car was to : suspend 3 pieces of twine from the garage ceiling down spaced so they hang over the bonnet (hood), roof and bootlid of my E90, just hanging 1,5 inches away from the car. At the end point of the string, I tied small pieces of soft sponge, soaked in bleach and left to dry (does not drip on the car). Well I have not yet seen any of my 3 cats attemtp to climb up onto my car again, as I know they hate bleach or strong smelly dtergents severely. Another trick I use is to spray air freshner over the car, while tghe cats look at me, as they hate spraying sounds. It works for me. |

Strictly a bit off-topic, but relavent to nuisance cats:
My Grandfather had a problem with a cat that used to like to sit and sun itself in the same place on his pigeon loft every day. He tried water etc to get rid of it, but it just kept coming back. So he put a metal plate on the roof in the cat's favourite spot and wired it to the mains................. the cat managed about six feet straight up before vanishing down the road never to be seen again. Meanwhile one of his pigeon racing friends caught a cat inside his pigeon loft. He managed to grab it and hold it in an old blanket. Took a pencil and coated it in mustard............... the cat ran off down the road only stopping to scratch it's backside on the pavement. So shock tactics do work!

Back to the problem at hand, you can get some "pet repellant" stuff (comes in granules) from Home Depot or maybe a pet store. You're supposed to sprinkle the granules on the bushes, etc. where you don't want the pet to go, and this is supposed to train them. You might want to check that out and maybe sprinkle it around your car. |
